Once Nikita opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Roman sitting next to her lying body which was tucked neatly away under the covers of a bed that happened to be inside one of the several guest rooms.

"Nikita, are you okay?!" Roman asked, worried.

As soon as he asked, Roman's mom looked over, too, seeming relieved that Nikita's okay.  Mr. Zachsfield, on the other hand, still seems to be quite annoyed.  Is he really still set on the fact of being against changing the rules for werewolves and witches to coexist?

"I'm fine, I promise," Nikita replied.

"I'm so glad," Mrs. Zachsfield chimed in.  "Right, Floyd?  "We're glad she's okay?"

He looked Mrs. Zachsfield's way and just seemed annoyed, and answered her question with a sigh and a roll of the eye.

"Are you serious?!  She could have died, Floyd!!  Are the rules really all you care about?!  You're sick," Mrs. Zachsfield screamed.

"I'm sorry, Candice.  Yes, the rules are one of the top things I worry about! But-," Mr. Zachsfield got cut off by the screaming and hollering coming from Nikita.

Oh, shit, Nikita thought to herself.  This is one of the moments where she needs to connect to her wolf and tell her that it was okay.

It took me a few moments, but she did just that and everything was just fine.

The Zachsfields all seemed confused.  Even Mr. Zachsfield.

"What the hell just happened right then?" Roman asked.

Even his parents, moreso his mom, was also wanting to know what the hell happened.  She seemed so concerned.

So Nikita explained to them what happened to her in her "dream".  She still didn't know what else to call it.  And both Roman and his mom were both surprised.

"I mean, yeah, I found Nikita cute and adorable alone, but I knew something else was up because my wolf wasn't acting the way he normally does, " Roman spoke.

"How do you mean?" Nikita asked.

"Who's your wolf again?" Roman asked.  "And the wolf you identified as 'the king of all wolves'?"

"Artica is my wolf, and the head wolf of all wolf spirits is Conri.  Why?" replied Nikita.

"I've heard stories about Conri the Wolf Spirit God.  Not only does he match the spirits with their respectful hosts, but he also helps the most special and strongest ones find their person who he believes is the right match to help bring two different supernatural worlds together.  Especially during a time of need.  Like the Darkness, as Nikita described," Roman spoke, thinking aloud.  "But the only thing is is that Artica is the last roaming spirit of her kind.  So for her to be matched with Nikita?  This must be serious."

Mrs. Zachsfield agreed while Mr. Zachsfield was a little questionable.  He was starting to see it from their perspective.  He was slowly giving in.

"As much as I hate this, there's really nothing I can do.  And even though I am part of the Wise Ones, this is way beyond us.  And I, as a Wise One, has no choice but to obey Conri," Mr. Zachsfield spoke.

Upon hearing that, both Nikita and Roman exchanged a look and smiled.  And with her now aware of her wolf, she then mentally spoke to him.

Thank goodness for Conri.  And Artica.  Otherwise we never would have succeeded in changing The Rules.

Agreed, Roman replied, all the while with keeping eye contact.
