Chapter 11

{The Next Day}

~Darius POV~

Eda called and asked everyone to meet at the Bonesborough library. At this point it's our group's go-to rendezvous point.

"Hey, Alador." I said, sitting next to Alador on the library steps.

"Hey." Alador said.

It's just us right now. We're both early.

"How did things go with your dad?" I asked.

"Well." He said. "They went well. I got lectured but it went well."

"Really? I was worried." I said.

"Aw, you worried." He teased.

"I'm the one who teases you! not the other way around!" I said.

He laughed.

"What did your dad say though?" I asked.

"He was disappointed I didn't feel comfortable telling him I like guys and that he doesn't care who I love as long as I'm happy." Alador explained. "He then said I'm not allowed to have anyone over when he's not home. Nobody at all. After that he lectured me on safe sex. When the lecture finally ended, I went to bed but I heard him talking to himself about not being prepared to realize I'm not a little kid anymore."

"That did go well." I said.

He nodded. I put my arm over his shoulders.

"Are you alright though?" I said.

"I'm embarrassed but I'll be fine." He said.

I kissed the top of his head.

"People are going to get suspicious if you keep that up." He told me.

"So you don't want me to kiss your head. Got it. I won't do it ever anymore." I noted.

"Wait, no, I didn't say that!" He replied. "

"You kind of did." I said.

"I take it back." He responded.

"It's too late. You already said you didn't want me to." I told him.

He frowned.

"I didn't mean it." He said.

"Aw. Okay." I said then kissed the top of his head. "I was only teasing you anyway."

"Why do you do this?" He asked. "Why do you tease me so much?"

"Because it's fun and you have the best reactions." I answered. "But you have a point. People will get suspicious if I keep kissing you on the head in public."

{Half An Hour Later}

"Why are we in the romance section?" Porter asked.

"Right. You haven't been in our secret hideout yet." Eda said.

"What secret hideout?" Porter said.

"Don't tell anyone, got it?" I said.

"You guys are my only friends, who would I tell?" He asked.

"He has a point." Lilith said.

Eda pulled the book-lever and the wall opened. Porter's jaw dropped. We dragged him inside and closed the entrance.

"Welcome to the hideout of the Hexside Outcasts!" Eda said.

"No one calls us that." Alador noted.

"I do." Eda shrugged.
