Chapter Fourteen
Awesome, my ass.

I might have exaggerated slightly when I said the roof was collapsing. If I am frank with you all, that's what it felt like. The sound of multiple creatures approaching shook the cavern, causing rubble to fall from the ceiling around us.
"So Captain, did you manage to find an exist?" Ava questioned as Xavier scratched the back of his neck. "Take that as a no, then."
The elf stood beside her sister. "Might I ask, what the fuck were you two doing? You were gone awhile!"
Well, we were being attacked by cave lions.
And holding hands.
Oh shut up!
"Go ahead unless, of course, you plan on fathering kids," I shrugged. "Then, in that case, I would keep your fucking mouth shut!" No thought crossed my mind as my elbow rammed into his ribcage.
"Nggggt!"
"Sorry, Captain? Did you say something?" Kaylin asked, now looking in our direction with her bow raised.
"N-no, nothing at all." He wheezed.
Several more roars shook the cavern, causing more rubble to fall. I recognised those sounds. They were the same as the cave lion Xavier beheaded. Only this time, it seemed like an army of them.
Reaching down, I picked up Nirvana and placed it on my back's holder. "So," I said, moving closer to Xavier. "What do we do?"
Xavier grinned. "Fight, what else?"
"Okay, Captain Obvious, how do you suppose we fight a fucking horde of cave lions? Not to mention, you're not entirely healed yet." Kaylin surprisingly said, referring to his wounds. "I love a good challenge, but don't see us getting out alive." Her eyes narrowed at me. "Well, all of us." She added.
'Princess,' I heard Nirvana's voice in my mind. 'Princess, you can get them out of here. Use me.'
How? I only ever used it by accident. I don't actually know what the fuck I'm doing. I can't do magic as Kaylin and Ava can.
"Oh, come on now, we've been in worse situations," this time, Ava spoke, pulling me from my thoughts.
Stepping away from me, Xavier grasped his swords and glanced upwards at the cavern roof. "Judging by the rock formation, we're far from the surface. So if you launch me," he said to Kaylin. "I can burst through the—"
"That's a good plan and all, Captain," Kaylin interrupted. "However, if the rock is thicker than you believe, you'll be crushed."
Her sister moved towards us. "I don't think we have a choice," said Ava, removing her magical pistol and pointing it towards the tunnel Xavier and I had previously been in. "I sense twenty-four approaching us."
"I can sense them, too," Kaylin added.
I raised my brow.
"Elves have heightened senses," Xavier shrugged as if it were nothing. "Stay close to me." He told me.
'Princess,'
"What?"
Xavier stiffened next to me. "I didn't say anything?"
A nearby, almost deafening roar shook the ground beneath us. It sounded a lot larger than the previous cave lion we encountered.
'Princess, you must use me.'
