Forty Nine: Curiosity [1]

A week had pass, there was nothing particular went on in the past few days within the academy. All the students did was enhance their magic and strengthen their core all week as they focused on their lessons.

However, there is something peculiar happening upon Luna's group.

"Did my brother disappear again?" Rei asked, sighing as the other respond with a nod. "Where the hell does he go during lunch time?!" She groaned.

It has been a week ever since Shiki had started disappearing on them during lunch time, at first everyone thought he had went on some errand, but it happened again the day after, as it went on.

Rei was particularly worried how her brother was acting, she thought that, he's starting to avoid them— specifically a person within their group, but that wasn't the case at all. Shiki still go along with them when it's not lunchtime.

"I bet he's secretly dating someone, and had been meeting them during lunch!" Daryll intoned only to get a resignation from the others.

Rei snorted as she shook her head and said "My brother? Dating? Oh please, not in a thousand years, you've seen him on how he acts around girls, totally indifferent. It's like he doesn't care and is only focus on one thing."

It never really occurred to Rei about her brother dating someone, perhaps because she couldn't picture it after he literally outright rejected the girl who was just about to confess, in the coldest manner she had never imagined.

"Hmmm.... Shiki wasn't the only one who had been acting suspicious these pass few days." Remus interjected as his eyes glance towards Rinalyn who was smiling tilting her head in confusion. "You," he started "you've been disappearing but on random time, where exactly do you go?" He asked as he raised his brow.

"....It's a secret!" Rinalyn exclaimed as she flashed a bright smile unto them. "By the way Arlo also hadn't been around us lately." She remarked, trying to change the subject.

Rinalyn for some reason looked at Rei as if she was waiting for her to answer. But only to be looked at Rei with bewilderment, "Wha...what? Why are you looking at me? Even I don't know the answer to that."

"He's with the twins lately." Luna suddenly replied.

The four of them looked at Luna who was approaching them with her beast on her side. Luna didn't went out with then for Clyde had asked her to bring their quizzes into the teacher's lounge.

Luna saw their expression as she added, "I saw him on the way here, they were heading on the cafeteria, he seems to be hanging out with the twins as of lately."

It wasn't that much a surprise, really. Arlo and the twins had been with together since their freshman year, it wouldn't much of a surprise if he chooses them over his new group of friends.

Luna was introduced to be friends with Arlo and to the twins too, but right now, she couldn't really care less on who she would go with. It also wouldn't be weird if the twins would wonder why Luna would choose this group than them.

It's not nice of a thought but one of the reason Luna would choose this group was because they're more significant than the twins. It's rude Luna knows, but Rei and the others have more of a significant role to play in this little game. They're important keys to end the game.

There's more to gain here than there.

"Hikari and Elmira too..." Xavier muttered.

The two girls seems to have other plans ever since last week, they've rarely hang out with them, the girls were only able to talk to the two of them again in the class and at the dorm. Although, it's a good thing they're getting along.

"Woah, I didn't know you were here!" Remus flinch at the sight of Xavier on his side, his hand crunch on his chest. "Don't tell me you were hiding within one of our shadows again!" He exclaimed.

"It was to scare you." Xavier bluntly replied. "That's my payback from scaring the shit out of me the other day."

"Look at what you've done with my brother, Remus, he's starting to have crazy thoughts like you now!" Rinalyn said shaking her head in disbelief.

"At least he learn a two on how he can use his powers." Remus looped his arms around Xavier as they continued walking towards the oval.

Luna kept on glancing back as she keep on hearing a voice meter away from her. Upon the corner near the light post on the wooden bench, there she saw Dion staring at her, making her nose scrunch and brows furrowed. Luna double up her pace and stick within Rinalyn's side.

'He keeps getting bolder and bolder, I hate the fact that whenever I go he's there. Seriously, what a creep!' she felt chills came across her entire body making her shudder in disgust and fear.

"Are you alright?" Rinalyn sudden voice made Luna snapped back out of thoughts.

Luna gave Rinalyn an assuring smile "Yeah, of course, I just had a chill." She answered.

"Oh, I see. You might've caught a summer cold." She said, putting her hand on Luna's forehead and the other to hers. "Hmm, seems normal..." Rinalyn muttered as she retreat her hand.

Luna couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction, well it is starting to get really hot now that it's May. She patted Rinalyn's back and re-assured her the second time, "I'm really fine, don't worry."

Because of that, Rinalyn returned a warm smile at her. Her smiling face somehow made her relieve, in addition Luna thought that Rinalyn really is pretty.

'I honestly wouldn't mind to go into another route, not that I'd care— well, someone will eventually.' He suddenly thought and eventually shrugged the idea.

There's no guarantee she'll get to leave the game if she take another route than making the original male character fall for her. Thinking about it again gave her the shivers, can she even succesfully get out of this game if she keep on making her distance?

Haaaa....

Luna couldn't help but let out long deep sigh. How stressful. Nothing's certain yet, there are still alot of things she needed to find out about this world— this game. About the Deity; Agapius, Aella and... the game system itself.
