The picture above is from Onmyoji. I love the song that comes along with Greenwarden Shishio.

It was a usual day in a hospital, people going in and out of wherever they came from like a bunch of busy ants; patients in line to get their insurances checked before any medical attention was given; families crying, laughing, quiet, anxious and the like; a gaggle of residents and housemen following a doctor like duckling would to their mother; the cleaner cleaning the floor and the walls for what it seems like umpteenth time this week; the halls smeeling like the familiar scent of a hospital alcohol. You know, the usual.

Steering to the right corner of the emergency wards, which Larry was currently transferred to, he placed his hands on the doorknob of a beige door on his left. People who are not familiar with the place would be confused as the hospital rooms and doors all look eerily the same. Well, unless one reads the signboards pasted on the doors. But then again, most are senseless numbers and alphabets that only those stationed in the emergency department would know.

Then again... even those who are stationed in the emergency department would be confused with the whole arrangement of the place. In fact, this particular brand of direction illiteracy, specific to the emergency department, would see a spike when there is an emergency that causes a large influx of patients.

Just like now...

"Where the hell are the IVs!" Someone gave a low growl.

"On the left idiot!" A young doctor snapped back with the same tone.

"Who the hell is responsible for preparing the IV!" The same male nurse gave a low volume shout, exasperated at the sight of the IV fluid without the corresponding equipment.

The surround nurses took one look and rolled their eyes, immediately scurrying off to their respective destinations.

It seems that it was a normal occurrence.

"On my left, imbecile!" The young doctor hissed, annoyed. It was clear that these two knew each other.

"Thanks asshole!" The male nurse yelled with no bite in his tone.

"You're welcome, fucker." The other doctor sassed back similarly as he directed the transporters and nurses to shift the patient to a ward before running to another patient that a new ambulance had brought in.

This was happening in almost every part of the emergency department, albeit with more civility, well, as civil as a senior doctor scolding a bunch of medical students can be.

It looked as if a bunch of headless flies were trapped in an enclosed space. Except said headless flies knew exactly what they were doing and were very very professional about it. Like cogs in a machine that acted like headless flies; seemingly random, but systematic. How the hell those two words can even be said in the same breath, nobody knows.

Different perspectives, one would say. Those working would know something about the cogs in their system and how they all work in sync, whilst those looking through a bystander perspective would see a hectic mess.

A head-on collision prone mess.

"Theres. Theres!" Larry lightly tapped on a Greek looking person with short hair tied up in a small pony tail.

"Huh? Yeah?" Theres dazely looked at Larry. Exhaustion was prominent on her face. It was not a surprise with this scale of patient influx. And she had about an hour left on her shift. Adding to the fact that it was just recently that she had transferred to the emergency department, it was no surprise she looked dead on her feet.

"What happened?" Larry asks in worry. He had just clocked out a few minutes ago and was welcomed with this particular scene. How the hell did a relatively calm and quiet emergency department suddenly turn into this hell hole in a matter of 10 minutes?! "Do you need any help? We are about to clock off now, but with the scale of this incident, I say you'll need all the help you can get."
