(Author's note: Sup sup Evercold here writing from the hospital room 😭 I spent the night in the emergency room yesterday. It's so boring here so I'm writing. Excuse any mistakes and nonsense I can't think properly with all the pain O3O. Edit: dont worry I am now slowly making a recovery!)

"You have been recruited to teach again."

"What?" Kaveh and Alhaitham both said, staring at each other. Kaveh was filled with relief and confusion. "A-are you sure?" He asked.

"Yes. I presume you can make it to class tomorrow? Or did you get another job?" The person questiojed.

"No! I mean yes. I mean- I'll be there," Kavrh stuttered.

"Alright. Have a gerat day."

"Wait!" He stopped him, "How could it be though? I was..."

"Oh, about that. Someone explained to us that that situation was a complete misunderstanding, so you have nothing to worry about."

"Okay...thank you," he said and slowly shut the door.

"What situation?" Alhaitham said.

"Nothing."

"Kaveh? Is there anything you're not telling me?"

"No!" Yes. Yes, there was. But why did it matter now? He walked over to a small armchair and let him himself fall in it.

Alhaitham sat on the arm of the chair and brought Kaveh's hand in his. "You look troubled. You know you can tell me anything."

After a sigh, Kaveh decided it would be best to explain to his boyfriend everything that's happened in the past. "Its just, you know when Esan told you about how I got fired?"

Alhaitham listened closely.

"I wanted to tell you the story from my side because he kept interfering."

"Okay, I'm all ears," Alhaitham said.

"Yes, I was his teacher. And yes, we were together. But I would never assault someone like he said I did, especially not in that way." Kaveh brushed his back, allowing his whole face to feel the air of the room. "His salty ass only started spreading that rumor because I broke up with him and refused to get back together."

"What exactly made you and Esan break up?" Alhaitham said, "if I may ask," he added.

"That bastard was always cheating left and right! Well...He wasn't cheating cheating. At least I never caught him. But it was obvious, he was flirting with almost every single person he called him friend and everytime we had a fight, he'd spend the night at one of their places. I bet he only wants me for my high status..."

Alhatiham nodded, letting him vent.

"Still though," Kaveh said, his tone growing stronger, "I can't believe he would paint me in such a way. I mean, only a lowly, worthless person with no heart or morals would ever assault someone."

The last words made Alhaitham stop breathing for a few seconds. His heart sunk to his stomach. He slowly got off the side of the armchair and started walking away.

"Where are you going?" Kaveh said.

"The bathroom..."

As soon as he was there, he closed the door and dropped down to the bathroom floor. He placed a hand on his chest, his shirt feeling tighter than ever. He could not breathe. "He's right," Alhaitham thought, "I am a lowly, worthless person. I am much more than that. I am a lowlife who doesn't deserve anything."

He thought that he'd overcome his past and accepted that he is a changed person now. But still, if Kaveh knew what Alhaitham has done before, he would never want him. He would never forgive him. Maybe even never feel safe with him.

"Haitham?" Kaveh called behind the door. He gently knocked on it and spoke softly. "Are you alright in there?"

"I'm okay," Alhaitham said when he left the bathroom.

"Are you sure? You look a little pale-"

"Kaveh, I said I'm okay," he snapped.

At that, Kaveh shut his mouth. He stood there in the middle of the hall.

Alhaitham cussed himself in his head. His boyfriend was only trying to care for him and yet, he practically shouted at him. He traced his steps back until he was in front of Kaveh. He held his cheek and wrapped Kaveh's upper lip in a warm kiss.

"I'm sorry," he said, "I'm just tired..."

"It's okay," Kaveh said, returning the kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Kaveh smiled, hoping he could put Alhaitham in a better mood.

"Are you going tomorrow?" Alhaitham asked.

"Where?"

"You know, to teach?"

"Oh...I suppose I will. I do need the money," Kaveh said.

"Why? I think you do a great job at being a princess already," he joked.

"Haha," Kaveh said sarcastically, "just so you know, I am never putting on a dress again so don't get your hopes up."

Alhaitham gave him a disappointed expression. "Not even for me?"

"Nope." He crossed his arms to deliver his firm response.

"Are you sure about that?" Alhaitham said, running a hand down Kaveh's chest and waist, stopping just above his hip.

Kaveh moved closer, blushing under Alhaitham's gaze. "If you keep looking at me like that, there is nothing I wouldn't do for you," he spoke quietly. His own words made him even more flustered.

For a moment, Alhaitham feels happy, drowning in Kaveh's love and affection, but the next, the fear starts to set it.

Lowly, worthelss person.

He won't forgive you. He is going to hate you. You don't deserve him. Worthless. Worthless. Worthless.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Kaveh said, lightly caressing Alhaitham's cheek with his fingers.

"It's nothing," Alhaitham said. He cleared his throat and pulled away. He can tell that Kaveh was disappointed because of that but he said nothing about it. "There is something that's on my mind thought..."

"Tell me," Kaveh said.

"If the Akademiya fired you because of what Esan said, how come you're hired again?"

"I guess Esan told them that he lied."

"But why?" Alhaitham said.

"I don't really know...but that doesn't matter. I have my job back!"

He seemed so happy that Alhaitham didn't want to read into it anymore. "Well, perfect. Now you can properly start to pay rent."

"Excuse me?" Kaveh said with a dramatic laugh.

"What? You didn't think you could stay here forever without paying, did you?"

Kaveh looked horrified for a good second until Alhaitham couldn't keep a straight face anymore.

"I'm joking, dumbass," he said.

"Tsk. You'd better be or else," Kaveh threatened.

"Or else what?"

"Or else this!" He took one step back then launched himself at Alhaitham. He knocked him down to the floor and started tickling him. Alhaitham groaned in pain when he jumped on top of him.

"I'm not ticklish, idiot," he said.

"Liar, everyone has a ticklish spot somewhere. Is it here? Or maybe there?" He tried different spots but recieved no reaction.

"Or maybe here," Alhaitham said, he tossed Kaveh around and started tickling him, instead.

"No! Alhaitham. STOP," Kaveh struggled to say between his helpless laughs. He twisted to the side and kicked Alhaitham away. "By the Archons, you are so annoying!"

"You started!" Alhaitham argued.

They had a good laugh as they both laid on the floor, staring up at the ceiling as they calmed down.
