Once You Told Me

i hold on to the night,
you told me "hang in there,"
and you hugged me tight
it was too dark in here

a little cut didn't kill me
you told me "i'll be your light"
and the next time i see
i was alone in this fight

the cut became bruises
you told me "stay in your room"
and your words became useless
then my whole world doomed

i wish i should have known better
i wish i shouldn't love you harder
once you told me "you are God's answered prayer"
yet you fooled me like my ex-lover
