Chapter 167

As Krystal stared foolishly, another person also looks at the building in disbelief. He had meticulously calculated the time and believed that, given Jayn's abilities, he would sense the fire and escape immediately. But, it seems there is something wrong, very wrong.

Ten stands up and walks towards the building. He cannot believe it. Jayn cannot die just like this. He is a general and should have died on the battlefield honorably. What would people say if they know that he was the one who set this up?

The fire would not spread out in this store because it is separated by a small road towards the other store. This is also the reason why Ten chooses the store. 

The fire is starting to die down, only leaving some burnt wood and all. He moved towards the front part of the building to look. But before he could try to dig, another person had done it.

Ten is stunned to see Lisa in front of him, digging furiously.

"If you don't want to help, scram!"

Lisa and Jackson were walking along this path when they noticed smoke rising. They were aware of the fire and tried to get near it, only to be greeted with the scene of the building collapsing. He was shocked and his heart froze when he heard the woman, who was wrapped in a wet blanket, yell that name. -Jayn

Without thinking, he rushed up to the building, hoping to find Jayn from the burnt-out building and save him.

Digging through the woods burns his finger, but Lisa is unconcerned. Jackson is also assisting some of the lads in gathering together from behind him. Their servants also showed up and assisted; how could they leave their master to do the job alone? They, too, do not want the young general to die in this way.

"There is a person here!"

Lisa turned around to see some of the villagers dragging a body out of the woods. The person's body is entirely blackened, and there is no way to identify him. What they can only recognize is that this person has a petite stature, similar to that of a young teenager.

Lisa didn't dare to come any closer. It has only been a few minutes... why would they need to part in such a way? He shifted his head towards the girl.

"What exactly happened?"

"I don't know! I really don't know!" Krystal is in tears. She is terrified that people will hold her responsible for this. Her pathetic appearance typically makes others feel sorry for her, but no one did this time because they knew she was the reason Jayn died.

Facing the raging Lisa, how could she not be afraid?

"You were with him the last time, what happened in that room??" person 1 asked.

"He even took the effort of saving you, what are you doing?" person 2 yelled.

Krystal feels suffocated hearing that many questions thrown at her.

Then she feels a strong grip on her collar. Lou picked her up and looks at her coldly per his master's order. From the distance, Lisa's voice is heard.

"Tell me the truth."

She wanted to break free, but a bottle suddenly fall because of her struggle. Seeing that pouch, Ten's face turned ashen. That was...

Shu took the pouch before anyone could react. His expression changed drastically as he handed the pouch to his master. Jackson looked at the pouch as his heart grow cold.

"How could a noble lady like you possibly have such an item?" Jackson's voice is emotionless, but the people around him can sense the deadly intent flowing from his physique. Jackson is no longer the friendly and playful person he used to be; he is truly angry.

Lisa also looks at the pouch, his expression hardened. That woman dares to...

"It's not mine! Ten is the one giving me that! He told me to keep it!" Krystal shouted, blurting the truth right away.

When Ten heard that, he knows that this matter had blown up. He needs to get away from that place as soon as possible. With that in mind, he turned away and started to run from the scene.

"Shu!"

Shu went after Ten. His speed is faster than Ten's because he was trained as an assassin, but he is stopped by a man who tackled Ten first and placed a knife in his neck. That man is dressed in black, has a cloth covering his mouth, and his eyes are glowing with fire.

"What did you do to Young Master?" a voice filled with anger is directed towards Ten. Shu stopped in his track and looked towards Lisa and Jackson who had walked over.

"He's one of Jayn's bodyguards?" Jackson looks towards Lisa.

Lisa nodded. He'd noticed this man's presence when he was with Jayn. As a result, he knows Jayn is protected by someone, even if that person is weaker than Jayn. He still remembers that person's presence, so he knows this is the same man. Furthermore, he had seen the other party at the hunt.

Ten struggled, but the man instead put the knife nearer to his neck. He didn't dare to move anymore. He realized that this man would not hesitate to kill him if it was needed. It's over... his career and life would be over...

"Girl, you better tell us what happened inside."

"I just ask him to accompany me, but after drinking tea I feel dizzy. He tried to wake me up and after I do, he wraps me in a wet blanket and then throws me out of the window!" Krystal simplifies the experience while yelling. 

Lou hadn't ceased his strength in gripping her. It won't kill her, but it will hurt the girl.

"In the first place, why are you with him?" Jackson remembers that Jayn is walking back home. Why should he suddenly change course? There must be something that happened in between.

"I had a clash with Ten and Jayn helped me."

"Is that true?" Lisa looks to Ten. "I see, so you're that kind that will force himself on a woman. And here I thought that you're an upright man."

Ten wants to tell the truth, but the knife is pressed more firmly on his neck. If he dares to do anything, the man before him would probably slice his neck without hesitation. He is a dangerous man, but why would he follow Jayn around?

Shu looks towards the men coming from a distance. "The investigation forces are here. Let's leave it to them."

Lisa clenched his fist. This matter has suddenly gone beyond what they expected. Now that Jayn had died, what would happen to the Kim family?
