Prologue - The Fall of the Eastern Champion

Edit, 7th of June 2023: I edited stuff I forgot in the prologue so there are some extra bits in the story and don't worry Chapter 1 is coming. I'm just struggling to find the time because its assessment month :( Anyways have a good day :D

Edit, 9th of February, 2024: I can't deal with how cringe this is so I'm giving this chapter, and maybe the whole book a makeover.

It was a regular day at Peach Blossom Spring Cavern. Before Alyssa would know it, this fateful day would become history. It would also become one of the worst day's of her life.

She was covering for Junjie as he was having his ceremony deeming him the protector of the Caverns but until it was over, Alyssa would be the protector before falling a rank behind Junjie again. 

Alyssa was sitting in her room, alone of course, waiting for a distress call.

Bang

"What was that?" She said to herself.

After the bang, distress calls flooded her Holo-Desk, all coming from the heart of the cavern she was in, Peach Blossom Spring. She could only pick up one at a time, and when she did all she could hear were screams.

"PLEASE HELP!!! THE EASTERN CHAMPION HAS SIDED WITH EVIL, MASTER LIAN IS GONE, SAME WITH THE REST OF THE PROTECTORS, I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY WENT!!! YOUR THE ONLY ONE LEFT!! FLOWER, RUN!! FLOWER I LOVE YOU-"

Fear stabbed through her, she had just heard the last words of someone. Junjie would never do that, right? Static was all she could here. She had taken over Eastern Champion before, but the calls were never this bad. Then she realized something, the Guardian Gate is in the heart, and so was her Boon Doc, Sparks. 

Sparks was a guardian and if the gate is in danger who knows what could happen to him? He was named when she was young so you had to admit it was childish but she liked the name even as a teen.

Without hesitation she ran to the outdoors and pre-loaded Polka in her wrist blaster. She threw herself on her Deer Mecha, but she still had questions overflowing in her mind. Who was the caller? What is happening? Is the Emperor escaping? Is Sparks okay? What happened to Junjie?

Alyssa was smart, she trained all of her slugs and discovered an Enigmo could show what kind of combinations of slugs together would work. She was still working on a blaster that could fuse them together, if she could do it, the caverns would never be in harm again. If only she had one now.

Bang

The bangs were getting louder and louder as she approached the heart, at last she made it. The village was engulfed in flames. Her eyes moved their gaze to the Guardian Gate entrance. There he was, the Emperor, the one she was taught to fear. The one she was taught about that tried to kill everyone in Peach Blossom Spring. Luckily Junjie's ancestor, Yang stopped him.

Behind the Emperor was an army and next to him was Junjie. But it wasn't Junjie. His eyes were scarlet red and his teeth were fangs. The once kind expression on his face became a glare that could kill. On his shoulder sat a Boon Doc, but it looked corrupted and strangely familiar.

And that's when it hit. It looked just like Sparks, but Sparks would never side with evil, right? She had to tear her gaze towards Lian, she was being taken away by those sentinel beings. She fired Polka out of her wrist blaster and started to ride her to get a closer look, abandoning her Mecha temporarily. 

Polka had the ability to create a light as bright as a Phosphro and could: burn, heal, stone or in case someone or a slug in ice and of course, allow the slinger to ride her. Polka got her name by her looks, she was covered in dark pink polka dots to match her main bright pink and white.
