Dear insecurity
When you gonna take your hands
off me?

The sun was slowly rising,
leaving a golden glow on the
street and the houses across
theirs and just for a moment
Hyunjin couldn't believe how
peaceful the house felt.

A gentle breeze made the leaves
of their apple tree rustle outside,
the birds chirping to their own
favorite melody as a new
summer day started.

It was mid-June, the summer
break was right around the corner
and alone the thought of their
upcoming vacation sent a
tingling feeling of excitement
through his limbs.

This year they'd visit the sea,
a small place three hours away
from Seoul so Seungmin could
travel comfortably too.

The past years they had often gone
to Japan or to Jeju but this year thebrunette had made his wish
clear that he didn't want to fly.

Hyunjin returned his gaze to the
pan in front of him at a familiar,
sizzling sound and sprinkled a
handful of chopped green onions
and cheese over the egg before
he began to roll it carefully.

There were days when he hated
to get up so early, when he had to
leave the warm bed and his adorable,
puppy-like husband behind to
prepare breakfast for his family.

Especially in winter when it'd still
be dark outside when Hyunjin's alarm
would go off but the happy faces of
his loved ones when they'd get
an amazing breakfast was
enough repayment.

But the few minutes of peace he got
in the morning were undoubtedly
something he really enjoyed too.

It was hard to get a break when
you had three, soon-to-be four, kids.

"Daddy?"

"Oh, hi princess.
Good morning!
Did you sleep well?"

Hyunjin cooed when his oldest
daughter rubbed her eyes cutely,
one arm securely wrapped around
her dumpling plushie and her hair
a mess similar to Seungmin's
when he left the bed.

"Hm.."

"Oh, sleepy baby."

The little girl waddled over to
her father and immediately cuddled
in his embrace when Hyunjin
opened his arms for a hug.

"Wanna watch daddy prepare
breakfast and lunch?"

"Please."

"Alright, sweetie.
Hold on tightly."

And with a swift move the ravenette
had picked his daughter up to place
her on the kitchen counter before
he returned his gaze back to the
egg roll he was still making.

He had already cooked the
salmon and had cut the vegetables
and fruits earlier so the only things
that were left were waiting for the
rice cooker to finish and prepare
some toast for himself and Seungmin.
