I know you hated me for everything
That I couldn’t do
Wish you’d have told me from the start
That I was nothing to you

"Come on, buddy.
It's time to go back home, hm?
You've been chilling in your
box for too long already, your
little leg is healed."

Minho tried to encourage the
small wild bunny, carefully patting
its butt in hope that the wild animal
would take it as a cue to leave.

It was one of the rare times when
an animal would get a bit too
comfortable in the human's care
but the ravenette had years of
experience with taking care
of wild animals.

Cats, bunnies, birds, squirrels.

Once he had even raised an orphaned
hedgehog, he still remembered how
Dori had learned on the hard way
not to annoy a hedgehog.

Being a freelancer had its advantages.

While he had to do the not so fun
things on his laptop but got quite a
lot of money for it, he always had
time to take care of the little
ones he saved.

The small bunny sniffed curiously
on the grass in front of it and took
a hesitant step forward before it
left the box and hopped away
into the nearest bush.

"There you go, take care, bud."

Minho smiled as he watched it
disappear before he stood up and
brushed the dirt from his pants.

It was his third bunny in
only two months.

Streets, gardens, dogs and pools
made it hard for wild animals to
live in the areas they once
called their homes.

And too many times the ravenette
had taken in badly wounded
animals that he hadn't managed
to save anymore.

It broke his heart, every single time.

Doongie was already waiting for
his owner by the glass door to the
veranda, meowing loudly when
Minho tickled his chin.

"Were you waiting for me, hm?
It's time for dinner, right?"

"Meow!"

But instead of following the
ravenette inside the house, the
orange cat walked in the garden
and turned around to look at
Minho expectantly.

Another, more forceful meow left
him when his owner didn't move.

"What's wrong, sweet boy?"

The man frowned when his cat
disappeared into the direction of
the street beside the garden.

Doongie knew that he wasn't
allowed to go there because of
safety reasons but Minho knew
his cat well enough that he wanted
to show him something.
