"Channie.."

The ravenette stopped when he
noticed how his husband wasn't
following him and turned around
just to find his partner pouting.

"What's wrong, Lixie?"

"My shoelaces.. Again.."

A smile grew on the older's face
when Felix pointed at his untangled
shoelace on his black boot, the pout
only growing when Chan cooed.

"I'll help, don't worry.
That's what I'm here for, right?"

He chuckled and placed a soft kiss
on his husband's freckled cheek

before he knelt down to tie the
younger's shoelace again.

It was already the third time on
their small walk and Chan had
already guessed that his husband
had probably chosen the wrong
footwear but Felix had insisted on
wearing his beloved combat boots,
claiming that his feet were one of
the last remaining body parts that
still fitted in his normal clothes.

When he had to leave his cozy,
warm apartment in the middle
of December being nine months
pregnant, he'd only do so with at
least one piece of clothing that
made him feel pretty.

In his case, boots and his
cream-colored beanie with
kitty ears.

Because the rest of his body
looked like a whale wrapped
in a piece of fabric, at least that's
how Felix saw himself.

Chan would never agree
with that though.

To him his husband had never
looked more adorable than in his
baggy black hoodie that stretched
over his baby bump and that dark
gray padded jacket he had also
stolen from Chan but couldn't close
anymore thanks to their twins.

The ravenette readjusted the
scarf around the younger's neck
and pressed a soft peck on the
freckled male's red nose, ignoring
Felix's unhappy whines as he placed
his hands on the baby bump.

"Are we enjoying the walk?"

"We are enjoying the walk a lot,
the kids more than I because they
get carried around and can sleep
in a warm, dark place while I have
to freeze and my back hurts."

"Lixie, the doctor said we should
go on regular walks to bring these
beans in the mood to move out, hm?
Walking can induce labor."

"And so does raspberry leaf tea
and sex, your point is?"

"The tea hasn't induced anything
so far and there's not a single
position you're comfortable with,
baby. I'm not going to risk hurting
you or our kids, that's why
we're going on walks."

"You're putting my mental health
at risk because my body is craving
for our couch and our babies are
craving for some hot chocolate."

But Chan could only chuckle
when his husband gave him
his signature pout again.

"Only ten more minutes, Lixie.
Then you can instantly go to the
couch and I'll make you some
hot chocolate, deal?"

"Deal."

Felix muttered as he grabbed
the older's hand but couldn't hide
his smile when Chan put their
intertwined hands in his coat
pocket to keep their hands warm.

Despite seemingly endless layers
of clothes, Felix was still feeling
cold and that was quite normal,
his body was using every bit of
energy to keep their little
ones warm.

That didn't mean that Chan would
allow his husband's adorable,
tiny hands to get cold.

"Our babies are so lucky.
They have the best mommy
who carries them around and
keeps them warm so they can
sleep peacefully while we enjoy
our walk. But they're missing out
on this beautiful, scenery, hm?"

"That's true.
The snow is so pretty."

And Chan could only place a sweet
kiss on his husband's freckled cheek
because truth to be told, he just
couldn't resist it now that those
cute cheeks had gotten so chubby
thanks to the pregnancy.

"You're way prettier,
my love."
