KYAWO TILLER | ATLANTA, GEORGIA
THE BELL HAD rung, indicating that class was over. This was Kyawo's last class for the day, and she had just finished testing.
She was feeling hungry, as she hadn't eaten since morning. Every other day, Kyawo, Amber, Terry, and June would meet up and have lunch together.
Heading towards the parking lot, two boys stopped Kyawo in her tracks. "Can we ask you a question real quick?" they asked, she noticed they were recording.
"Is this for YouTube or something?" she asked , and they nodded. "First of all, you single?" one of the boys with a lighter complexion asked.
Kyawo replied, "Yeah, what's the question?"
"The question is, could you rate us from 1 to 10?" both boys asked Kyawo.
She laughed as she saw Amber spotting her coming up and waving into the camera, standing beside her.
"I'd give you like a 7," Kyawo said to the boy with a lighter skin tone.
"And you, you're a 10 for sure," she said, referring to the boy with a darker complexion. She had never seen either of them before, but he was a good-looking dude.
"Damn, why do I gotta be a seven though?" the boy said, following behind Kyawo and Amber as they began walking.
"Boy, you asked her to rate you and she rated you," Amber replied to the boy.
"You're right, you're right. My homeboy want y'all's Instagrams though," the boy said, handing over the other boy's phone. Both Amber and Kyawo typed in their Instagrams and proceeded to walk after that.
