Chapter 5 A Flash of White

9:00AM January 17 2132 

Line Ark Navis Corporate HQ

Long ago, Navis was once a prominent corporation, rising as the number 4 corporation behind Kisaragi Crest and Mirage. However, after a costly war with Mirage and a betrayal by Crest, the corporation had been brought to the brink of destruction. but as fate would have it, untold numbers of unmanned suicide weapons poured out of Borbos mine, the very mine that mirage  had fought this war over. It turned out the "new resources" that were in the mine was actually a massive facility known as the Internecine. In the aftermath of the suicide weapons attack, Navis was able to slip away into the shadows. decades down the line, they stumbled upon Line Ark, a massive floating city. Seeing an opportunity, Navis relocated to the floating city to rebuild their power as a corporation. Nowadays, Navis is primarily a resource extraction company providing some of the best services of its kind. 

Inside Navis HQ

Inside the Navis HQ were two Ravens who had been hired by the corporation.

The unpredictable Raven Hailfire and his AC Bullet Hell.

And the calm and collected Raven, Luigi Graziani and his AC Dustwind.

"So what's our mission objective?"  Luigi asked calmly. "I hope it involves killing, I'm sick of being contracted for guard duty." remarked Hailfire who was clearly bored out of his mind. "Mission objective is simple, one of GAs research stations in Nevada has apparently detonated for 'unknown reasons'. Line Ark wants you two to investigate." A female operator answered. "So Navis hired us to look at some failed GA science project?" Asked Hailfire who was barely paying attention. "Yes, that is the objective of this mission. However, if you encounter any resistance, you have permission to use any means necessary to complete the mission." replied the female operator. "Now your talking my language, girl!" exclaimed Hailfire who was now paying full attention. "Right, lets get moving! The faster we get there, the faster you'll get to shoot things!" stated Luigi who quickly began to move out. "Sure thing, man." replied Hailfire who quickly began following suit. As the two Ravens were picked up by helicopter to be transported to Nevada, a white N.E.X.T stared at them from the sidelines. 

It was White Glint, the N.E.X.T who's fame was legendary. The pilot of this machine was a man simply known as Anatolia's Mercenary a Lynx said to be rivaled by no-one not even the deceased #1 Collared Lynx Ostsdarva.  The only Lynx that was said to rival him Strayed, had disappeared from the public only 2 years ago in the aftermath of the Orca war. Now this legendary pilot had seemingly gained interested in the two Ravens Navis had hired on behalf of Line Ark. as the helicopter transporting the Ravens left for Nevada, White Glint would soon follow for reasons unknown.

2 hours later

After a long trip, the two ravens arrive to the source of anomalous detonation. As they were dropped off by helicopter they noticed two things, a portal where the detonation took place, and two ACs on the ground.

by the looks of things their pilots were knocked unconscious, most likely from the exploding facility. however before they could do anything to help, energy readings from the portal began to spike as something began coming from the other side.
