'LEON!? WHY IS HE HERE!?' You panicked internally, causing hell and chaos through out the whole place while your face outside remained neutral, staring at the boy standing in front of you.
"Thank you very much." You thanked him with a smile, trying to look relaxed and appreciative and not look like you're trying to go and ruffle his hair. You remembered, Leon is a quiet kid and it seems like even in his childhood days, he still is.
You took the handkerchief from him, heck you didn't even notice that it fell off. Leon seems to be anticipating something when he didn't move from his spot. You blinked at him, sending him a questioning look. What's up with him?You were about to ask him why he's still standing there but abruptly, he walked a way without a single word.
Talk about rude but you still love him though.
'Wait! If he's living here, why isn't he attending our school!?' You know that there's no other school other than yours around here. The next school is like hours away from here.
And if he's here at the park with no one as his company, then he should be living around the same neighborhood unless he wants to get lost around.
At the school, you were sure as hell he isn't even mentioned once.
What is he doing here? Is he lost?
"Ah wait!" You called out to him, stuffing your handkerchief to your pocket. If he's here then might as well talk to him and know what he's doing here.
"Hmm?" He rubbed his eyes before turning around. You caught up to him and saw that he's indeed taller than you, about Jeremy's height.
He looks like he wants out.
'Sh*t sh*t think of an excuse!!'
"Can I treat you for some Ice cream? Y'know for returning my handkerchief..." You asked him, mumbling a curse to yourself for that dumb excuse.
Though Leon seems to consider it since he nodded, his eyes lightning up for a bit, showing just how vivid and beautiful his Emerald orbs are.
Geez, if you pawn his eyes (don't) in a jewelry shop then maybe you'd be the richest person ever.
But nah, he's too precious.
You looked around for an ice cream truck or at least someone selling them and almost in cue, an Ice cream truck did indeed roll along the street and stopped near your spot.
Ah looks like luck is at your side.
"What flavor do you want?" You asked Leon who settled himself at the swing next to yours, rocking himself back and forth slowly.
"Vanilla..." He said before suddenly staring directly at your eyes. You almost flinched but shrugged before turning around.
"Wait here!" You told him and walked towards the vehicle which is currently getting surrounded by children and parents getting forced and almost dragged to buy it.
Leon sighed as soon as you turned your back away from him. Geez, how he hates going to his relatives or anywhere outside his room.
It's not like he hate them or anything, it's just that he loves to sleep and going outside hinders him from staying at his bed for most of the time.
He wants to go home already, leave his cousin's house and go back but he can't. He's going to be scolded by his mother for being impatient and ungrateful or some sh*t.
He couldn't exactly leave the girl who offered to treat him ice cream. No one could really say no to free food.
He found himself drifting to his thoughts and his eyes getting heavier. He wants to sleep....
Sleep, it's always plaguing his mind, it's a miracle he even manages to have high grades and still stay at the Karate club.
It's also a miracle that he didn't pass out while exploring the neighborhood. Actually he escaped his cousin while they're touring around and they had to stop at an convenient store and Leon, being Leon, he ditched.
Not in a bad way but he's quite bored alright.
"Here you go!" He almost flinched and fell down the swing, thankfully he caught himself.
His hazy eyes met e/c orbs but shifted on to what the owner is holding out o him. He gratefully took the ice cream with a smile, mumbling a thank you.
You just nodded, sitting down at the swing next to him. It was silent but not awkward, it was comfortable.
You licked at your f/f ice cream, nodding to yourself at it's delicious flavor. You looked at the silent male beside you who's hazy eyes is absent-mindedly staring straight ahead.
You cleaned your throat, you'll try and start a conversation with him.
"You don't seem to live around here, visiting someone?" You know it's quite personal but at this time, as always, you don't care.
"Yeah, I'm visiting my cousin."
'Cousin? Who? The novel didn't mention anyone...' You wondered to yourself, nodding as you rocked yourself back and forth in the swing gently.
"Really? Wh-"
"N/N!!" You were startled at the loud cry of your name, you almost have a whiplash turning your head towards the direction of the voice.
"Christy?" You stared at the beautiful girl in front of you, she looked like she ran until here but she doesn't seem tired or even broke a sweat.
"I've been looking for you, you weren't at your house when I visited and I got so worried!" She rattled you on and on, completely disregarding the male next to you.
"I-uh, I just came for a walk." You answered her and she nodded, seemingly understanding you.
Suddenly she put her attention at the male at the swing next to yours. The two met eyes and you felt them instantly have this connection.
It's y'know, the protagonist instant connection or something.
Wait. Wait! Aren't they supposed to meet in middle school!?
Isn't this a bit too early!?
"Leon! You literally ditched me! You could've gotten lost!" Another voice called in and when you looked who it was, you couldn't believe how you didn't connect the two together.
Same Brown hair and crystalline Emerald eyes.
It's Penelope, the intelligent beauty and the cousin of a male lead.
