“Alex!”

“Ah! I’m coming!”

Alex yelped as he almost tripped on his way to you. After spending a few days with him - with tons of husky level types of escape to avoid two certain people- you realized he’s quite clumsy. He could be very agile but at the same time, he’s the type of person to trip on obviously seen branches. That’s the first one you noticed.

But yet again, you did realize many things about him, things that the original novel hadn’t mentioned, or things past-you chose to ignore. Alex is well, surprisingly a science nerd, the amount of random facts you learned through his ramblings were amazing. Though some just made you terrified and cautious of your own body. Mainly about teratoma and its supposed teeths and hair.

“What’s wrong?” Alex asked, breathless from the sheer panic. He must’ve thought it was Alderich siblings-related.

“I heard that the cafeteria is going to sell those things again.” You said seriously, referring to those limited bread pans that people always rave about. Alex visibly relaxed and surely, you saw his hasty plans of escapes vanish, the gears in his head stop turning. You almost laughed at the way his face comically fell, now you understand Ian and his hobby to annoy you and others, his reaction sparked this mischievous feeling in you.

It felt amusing.

“And here I thought I’d have to pull an impromptu excuse.” He laughed, settling beside you, his eyes twinkling in delight.

Wow.’ You thought, just watching him laugh. His visuals really don't pale compared to the others. That’s your 55th realization so far, perhaps once again- it’s just one of the many facts you chose to ignore when you were clouded with judgement.

He reminds you of pretty sunsets, warm and strangely makes you feel relaxed. Something you wanted to feel for a long time.

“Don't worry about not getting those bread pans.” You raised an eyebrow at the sight of his grin, his eyes once again twinkling along his emotions.

“Why not?”

“I have connections.” He said proudly, puffing out his chest. You smacked his shoulder playfully, not believing him at all. He claimed to have connections all the time so it's not really reliable anymore.

“You say that all the time, Alex Myers.” You said, shaking your head. You remember all the time he said he had connections - with the teachers, then to the police officers, then to some random shops, he even said that he had connections with the president once. That's where you drew the line and just treated his words as his usual playful jokes.

Though there are times you do believe him. But those are rare times.

“Oh but I'm not a liar N/n!” He quipped before standing up, you looked at him confused when he beckoned you to stand up too. “You want those bread pans right? I'll show you I'm always telling the truth.”

Lazily you stood up, he just grinned at the display and soon took a hold of your shoulders, assuming position behind you. He then starts to walk, forcing you to put your weight against his hands whilst walking. He guides you to the cafeteria where everyone is already racing to get the special bread pan.

You expected him to bulldoze through the line and say he got connections but no, instead he directs you to the side, where only cafeteria staff are allowed to enter. You vocalize your confusion but he just waves you off.

None of the staff inside also seemed to mind you barging in either. But the students who saw you enter a while ago did give you plenty of stares.

“Oh Alex! Are you here for those bread pans?” A woman, wearing an apron approached with a smile. She looks like she's in her late 30’s. She greets you before turning to address your friend.
