her plan had worked, he really did stay.

up until the child was 4, victor stood by laura and their young daughter who was just now getting the idea of how to speak properly.

The toddler was of course beautiful and undeniably cute as both of her parents were good looking themselves.

The young girl had big beady black eyes with rosy chubby cheeks and a kind smile which would make anyone's heart melt from just looking at it.

Even though the couple now had a daughter, Laura lacked to pay attention to her at all.

when the mother and daughter were alone, she would act as if she wasn't even there, she wouldn't even do the simple task of watching her to ensure she wouldn't accidentally hurt herself or anything.

There were scenarios where the young toddler had tripped or fallen and burst out screaming her mothers name only for her teary eyes to watch her dear mother sitting on the couch not too far away and refusing to do a thing.

instead, her father would come. worried, he would comfort them and ask Laura what had happened.

nothing, she knew nothing.

she would lazily shrug her shoulders before picking up her daughter away from victor's arms and placing her on the couch and just clinging to her boyfriend's arms, "it's been so long since we went on a date. should we go on one today?" she asks with a sly smile as she ignored the fact her daughter was right behind her and whining for her embrace.

This happened multiple times. not just at home or not just hurting herself, but being lost in the street, forgotten at stores, and her mother not caring to pick her up from preschool.

multiple times, victor had let it slide before i had just become too much to bear.

He really did love his child, but just not enough to put up with her mother anymore.

so he left.

he didn't go the extra mile to take his child with him, he just left.

the daughter watched as he walked out the door with her mother kneeling down and sobbing in front of it.

unconsciously, the daughter walked over to her mother and comforted her with a hug, "mommy, why are you crying?"

there was no answer.

Laura continued to sob with her hands covering her rather beautiful eyes as her daughter continued to stay by her side.

"Where is daddy going? Why is he leaving?" she asks.

her question had taken the attention of her mother as she was finally looking her way.

how long had it been since her mother had acknowledged her daughter enough to even look her dead in the eye? how long had it been such the toddler had seen her mothers beautiful pale blue eyes again?

so long.

"he's not coming back." her mother suddenly says.

the toddler was confused, her head tilting to the side as she continued to face her mother who's tears wouldn't stop falling.

"and do you want to know why?"

The young girl's eyes light up, a smile reaching her face as she nods in curiosity.

"It's because you weren't a good enough daughter, y/n."
