┆彡 THE NEXT MORNING
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The loud ring of her usual 5 AM alarm rung, her arm immediately slapping her face to forcefully wake herself up from irresistible slumber. She basically punched the alarm clock to shut it off, a groan leaving her as she could already hear the hurriedly footsteps of people in the hallways reminding her that this was real. She scoffs, "a day off my ass." she curses, stomping to the bathroom and slamming the door right behind her. The one thing that never changed about Bone was her attitude every morning.

After brushing her teeth, she takes a cold shower which had permanently woken her up, the cold water refreshing both her mind and body as she scrubbed herself with soap in silence, not a single word or change in expression coming from her.

Stepping out of the shower after a quick rinse and wash, she wraps herself in a towel and hops out onto the dry mat, turning it damp. She presses the towel all over herself quickly and throws on a black T shirt embrorided with the word 'ARMY' and green knee length shorts. she adjusts the outfit in the mirror so it looked best presentable, these few days she was doing an awfully good job of laying low. Removing her gaze from her clothing, she looked at her face which she realized a small wound was placed on her cheek, reminding herself of the mission yesterday.

"How did this happen?" she whisper-yells, her face leaning closer to the mirror as her index finger poked at the small cut. "Oh," windows, she got injured during the time they were conflicted with the mexican army, she sighed, leaning back away from the mirror. "Why the hell did nobody say anything to me last night?" she complains, ruffling her hair with the towel for a few seconds before throwing the cloth back on it's hanger without a double check. She grabs a handful of her hair and ties it tight into a bun identical to the one she wore yesterday, applying gel afterwards.

Feeling satisfied with her hair, she walks out of the bathroom and pulls on a solid pair of black socks as well as a suitable pair of sneakers. Lastly, she makes her bed with care, feeling pride it in it's finished work she opened the door to her barack and slammed it shut behind her, walking down the crowded hallways.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

After physical training, she walks beside Soap and Alejandro to the mess hall, listening to them laugh and crack jokes at one another, none of them being even the least funny to the teenager walking in the middle of it all, a frown appearing on her face. To not be irritated any more, her gaze looks for ghost who was falling behind them and the girl could see he was infact annoyed just as much as she was.

She turns her gaze back forward, a yawn erupting from her as she enters the mess hall for breakfast, this morning, she would definitely stuff herself with a meal considering how she didnt eat last night, her walk speeding ahead of everyone else to get in line.

"Woah, lass! This isn't usually like you?" Soap announces, catching up to the girl with a smile and standing beside her in line with a tray in his hand. "realizing just now the food wasn't as bad as you thought it was?"

the teenager shrugged with a soft smile, "maybe" she turned away, passing her tray down the counters as the cooks poured multiple different dishes on it, the rest of them following right behind her.

thanking the workers for the meal, she leaves the lunch line and starts searching through the mess hall for a table to eat at with the rest of the task force.

A quiet sigh left her as she forced her eyes to look at nothing but what was infront of her, her eyes finally ending upon an empty table not cluttered between many others. she quickly strode her way over there, hearing the voices of Soap and the others behind her.

As she sat down, the rest of the men did so just a few seconds after taking the same seats in the same arrangements they've done since it was Bone's first day there.

the Scotsman knocked his shoulder with hers, "excited for later this evening?" he asked, his question being directed to her, but in the end to everyone else, "I am." The man beamed, immediately taking a hungry spoonful of his food like a dog.

in response to Soaps words, Alejandro's face lit up, "ah- the letters? i'm sure we all are, sergeant." he states, his usual broad handsome smile forming on his face as he stabbed his fork into his food softly.

letters? the teenager pondered before the thought was finally understood throughout her head.

While stationed with Shepard, she had requested specifically that any letters written for her would be discarded and she'd prefer to not even know they'd been sent in the first place. Despite how bratty her orders were, the old man approved, as he always did when it came to her.

she had only received a letter once. and after seeing who it was from and reading its contents, she had refused to ever look at one again which is what sent her strange request in order.

But she was away from shepard this time, and she knew the people here wouldnt suck up to her like shepard did.

now, her mother would be another step closer to her. but, that was just a hunch overall. She didnt know for certain if she had such determination to continue sending letters after all these years receiving no reply.

A part of her had wished her mother held thoughts of her at least once everyday, that she didn't forget she had a daughter. So that she would still be able to say she had a mother. but mostly, she had hoped her leaving caused her mother deep sorrow and had her filled with regrets that ate her up constantly, reminding her of her sins.

just once, she wanted to be felt bad for. for once and never again, she wanted to be told sorry and be begged for her forgiveness. She kept telling herself that her desires weren't odd. It was normal to want to be pitied every once in a while.
