Karina rubbed her palms together and rehearsed the lines she was going to say. She had been nervous the first time she asked Winter out but this was on a totally different level.

Not only this event was very special but also very crucial moment of their relationship. In other words it's do or die. Because after this moment there was no turning back.

With a shaking fingers, Karina rang the doorbell of Winter's apartment, hands checking on her coat to make sure her gift was still safe and sound. A little while later, the door opened and out came Winter, still looking beautiful as ever.

" So are you just gonna gawk at me or are you going to come on in? " Winter giggled as she teased a dumbfounded Karina.

"Sorry about that. I just get dazed around pretty ladies."

Karina scooted closer to Winter and wrapped an arm around her waist and couldn't help but notice the tears forming on Winter's eyes.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"It's just, I can't believe were actually doing this Karina?"

"Me too. But as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end, right? " Karina muttered as she kissed the already falling tears from Winter's eyes and couldn't help but shed some of her own too.

At this moment, both of them were silently praying that this day will never end. But they obviously know better than that.

Today, they were lovers but the following day they were become mere strangers.

---

Karina went down to the kitchen to find Winter silently eating breakfast at the table with a small box on her side.

"Is that for me?"

Winter hummed in confirmation and continued eating. The two enjoyed their breakfast in silence, sometimes making small talk to loosen the tense air between them, it was painful for both of them, but they decided it was for the best. Their relationship had gotten to the point where their spark for each other had lost and attempting to rejuvenate that spark just made it worse for them. It wasn't working anymore and it was that moment that the answer was painfully obvious to them: breakup.

When both of them finished, Winter got up and proceeded to do the dishes, but Karina stop her and said no.

"Why are you stopping me?"

"Let me do it, it's the least I could do for letting me stay the night."

After washing the dishes, Karina reached into her pocket and brought out a box, her was a little bit bigger than Winter's box. "Here, I made this for you, I hope you like it."

"Thank you, what is it?"

"Uh, scarf. Since cold season is coming and all, I thought I might make you something to suit the season."

"I see, I will use it well. Ah, wait! I almost forgot. " a small box was put on Karina's hands; the same hands that caressed her lovingly in the past but now it was cold like the early winter breeze.

"Take care of it, okay. I won't forgive you if you don't."

"I will don't worry."

"You should probably get going, Karina. It's almost rush hour and you might end up not getting a ride on your way back. "

"Yes, you're right. "

Both of them stepped on the sidewalk to catch a cab. While they were waiting, Winter couldn't help but tear up as she uttered three simple words to the woman she might never see again. And even if they did see each other again, they will just exchange a nod and smile.

"I'll miss you."

Karina wiped Winter tears with a handkerchief, she was crying also, for she will never get the chance to kiss her tears away ever again.
