The café was crowded and loud, a constant hum of conversation punctuated by laughter and the clatter of cups and saucers. The air was thick with the scent of coffee, a haze of cigarette smoke, and the occasional waft of perfume.

In one corner, a secret agent sat alone. He wore a dark suit, his back rigidly straight, and his face was impassive as he stared into a cup of espresso. He had a confident air about him, an air of self-possession and purposefulness.

At the other end of the café, another secret agent sat alone, her back to the wall and her eyes scanning the room. Her clothing was just as dark as the first agent's, but her mien was different. Where the first agent had been still, she was in motion, her gaze flitting from one person to another as if looking for something.

Suddenly, the two agents locked eyes, and in that moment they seemed to recognize one another. It was the kind of recognition that only comes from years of living in the shadows, of working in the dark.

The agent in the corner slowly stood and made his way to the other agent's table. She met him halfway, and the two stood in the middle of the café, not speaking.

Finally, he broke the silence. "You're here," he said.

She nodded. "As are you," she replied with a slight smile.

He gestured to the chair opposite her, and she sat.

He looked at her for a long moment before speaking. "I've been looking for you," he said quietly.

She smiled again. "So have I," she said.

There was a pause, and then he said, "Do you want to get out of here?"

She nodded. "Yes," she said.

He stood up and offered her his hand. She took it, and the two of them made their way out of the café.

Outside, the street was alive with the hustle and bustle of people going about their business. The two agents blended in with the crowd, their hands still intertwined, and as they walked, they talked.

At first, their conversation was careful and guarded, as if they were just getting to know one another. But soon, they were joking, sharing stories, and laughing. They walked and talked for hours, until the sky began to darken.

Finally, they reached a small park and decided to sit. They sat on a bench, and he took her hand in his again. She looked him in the eye and said, "I've been waiting for this moment for so long."

He smiled. "Me too," he said.

The two of them sat in silence, watching the sun set, until finally, he leaned forward and kissed her.

The kiss was long and deep, and when they finally parted, she said softly, "I love you."

He smiled, and said, "I love you too."

They stayed there, entwined in one another's arms, until the night was deep and the stars were twinkling in the sky. Then, they slowly stood and made their way back to the café. As they walked, they talked of plans for the future, and the possibilities that lay ahead.

The Secret Heart had begun.
