YANKEE STADIUM
HOME VS. ORIOLES

the new york situation was far from pretty.

sophia didn't want to be a yankee anymore. what dad didn't know had taken a toll. and once dad did know, it got worse.

she left last season thinking it would be over. she thought she'd be at nyu right now. the woman had everything in place after all.

nyu accepted her for the spring semester to pick up where she left off two years ago. she could be graduating soon if she didn't have to be here, at yankee stadium.

her father tried everything to break her contract. andy pettitte promised he'd get her out of there by spring training, but if promises aren't fulfilled they're simply broken. and his wasn't fulfilled, unfortunately.

the negotiations got really messy. ties were severed, money was owed, and people got real angry.

soph signed a four year 50 million dollar deal last year, meaning this was her second year of it. due to certain add-ons and the yankee's notorious ways with money, breaking the contract was gonna be a living hell. andy was willing to go through with that, but after he was threatened with an unnerving letter from a legal office with the yankee's name, he had to stop.

they tried their best to keep this all under wraps, and for the most part it stayed under. there was one guy on twitter who leaked it, but surprisingly no one believed it. lucky for them.

being in new york not only sucked because she had to spend her days with aaron boone and a bunch of other washed up idiots, but also because she was away from tyler.

she couldn't commit to a relationship with him because of the distance. not to say they didn't have a relationship, they just didn't have a label. and somehow, that still didn't sit right with her.

"hi soph!" exclaimed higgy, knocking her train of thought off the tracks.

"hello, higster," she returned with a smile. the only good thing about still being here, were the players. men scared her for the most part, but they were a great group of guys. quite respectful too.

the woman was sitting on the dugout bench with the oriole's roster in her hand. boone assigned her the task of "briefing" sevy and kyle on certain pitches to throw to their more dangerous players.

"got anything for me?" he asked, taking his gear off the little equipment shelf.

"just don't throw mullins any sinkers, not that sevy throws those anyways, but..." sophia advised with a tight-lip smile.

"noted," higgy nodded.

"break a leg, my friend," she wished him luck. he sent her a thumbs up, then thumped up the dugout stairs onto the field.
