Autumn

Shimmering leaves

Dance beneath Autumn's breeze

As what was once lost

Is now to be found

Within the simple falling of the leaf

And like the trees that turn

My mind is set to a bright amber

I step before the cold breeze

A welcome change

To Summer's heat

Seeing the sky finally thrive

With clouds always visible to the eye

A light drizzle as time goes bye

I step forward towards this golden field

Autumn's breeze and golden wheat

A sight to reveal

The sun hits just right

And I eagerly await the night

But this setting sun

There's only one word to describe it

It's fun

As the wheat like the leaves

Dances in the breeze

I step forward

Out summer's heat

And finally

Happy

Hoping to stay

For the sky to display

A starry night

As the sun

Goes away

But there's more to this field

As the sun sets over the horizon

A new blessing has been revealed

Like lanterns flying towards the night sky

Lightning bugs, by the thousand

Come by to say, 'hi'

The field is filled with those little bugs

Flying around, lighting the field

Like little hugs to my eyes.

And the sight

I beg you to picture

Glistening wheat,

A starry sky

And lightning bugs as far as your eye

There is no better a sight

Just admit defeat

Welcome to Autumn

Leave your worries

And sit next to me

A.N- Finally, I get to do a poem with that firefly scene. I've wanted to do that for so long.
