I looked over at Scott confused as Coach continued to blow the whistle at Stiles.

He finally shot his head up, frantically looking around the room. "Stilinski!" Coach yelled at him.

"Uh-huh?" He asked, sounding as if he was out of breath.

 "I asked you a question."

"Oh uh, sorry coach. What was it?" He played with his pen in his hand nervously.

"It was "Stilinski, are you paying attention back there?"

"Oh, well I am now." He said biting his lip.

"Stilinski, stop reminding me why I drink... Every night." Coach turned back around.

I looked at Stiles from my seat behind Scott. He looked at both of us. "I'm okay. I just fell asleep for a second."

"Dude... You weren't asleep." Scott said to him shaking his head. Stiles looked down at his desk in confusion.

I leaned up a little and saw Stiles had wrote 'WAKE UP" everywhere on his paper. I gulped nervously as he out his book over it.

"Okay, so what happens to a person who has a near-death experience and comes out of it seeing things?" Scott says.

"And is unable to tell what's real or not?" Stiles chimes in.

"And is being haunted by demonic visions of dead relatives?" Allison looks at us from across the table.

"They're all locked up because they're insane." Isaac says, as everyone turns their attention toward him.

"Ha. Can you at least try to be helpful, please?" Stiles says annoyed, beside me.

"Okay for half my childhood, I was locked in a freezer, so being helpful is kind of a new thing for me."

"Hey dude are you still milking that?"

"Yeah, maybe I am still milking that," Isaac argued.

"Hi." I jump slightly and turn my head toward a girl who was standing over our table.

"Hi, sorry. I couldn't help overhearing what you guys were talking about. And I think I actually might know what you're talking about." Kira says, who I remember is in our History class.

"There's a Tibetan word for it. It's calls Bardo. It literally means in-between state. The state between life and death." She looks at me, then over to Scott.

"And what do they call you?" Lydia says, her sassyness rolling off her tongue.

"Kira," Scott says smiling, all of us looking toward him. "She's in our history class." He says matter-of-factually.

"So are you talking Bardo in Tibetan Buddhism or Indian?" Lydia asks.

I move toward Stiles more as she takes a seat beside me. "Either, I guess. But all the stuff you guys were just saying? All that happens in Bardo."

"There are different progressive states where you can have hallucinations. Some you see, some you just hear. And you can be visited by peaceful and wrathful deities."

"Wrathful deities? And what are those?" I ask from beside her.

"Oh, like demons." Once she says that everyone's eyes widen. I can feel Stiles stiff up from beside me.

"Demons! Why not?" He shakes his head.

"Hold on, if there are different progressive states, then what's the last one?" Allison asks.
