General POV:

The Pogue's get out of the car and JJ walks around to Kie's door and opens it for her,  he then takes her hand and helps her out of the car and closes the door behind her as they head over to the school gym where the prom is taking place.

It is an hour or so into the prom, everyone is dancing to a fast song until suddenly a slow song comes on and everyone finds their dates and begins to slow dance with them.
