no new messages: the one string of text that i dreaded seeing under gavi's contact. the pain always stung in my chest when the last message i saw was mine.

i ended and started every conversation we had.

i kept telling myself it was useless dwelling on him; morena had him, and i knew deep down that the two of them had something that could never be faked... or forced.

reading back my old messages made me cringe terribly - i would turn my nose up in utter disgust, i knew it wasn't me sending those texts. it was the girl i thought he'd fall for, but i was so far away.

truly, i envied her. she was the cousin of a famous soccer player, she was absolutely stunning, a model, and basically dating my celebrity crush.

who was i to be jealous, though? i was a model too, i know i'm pretty, i have good style, and come from a well off family. it was all so bizarre.

i knew her and zainab saw me as a fool, now that that is what i have painted myself as.

it's just stupid that this is all because of a guy. a guy that probably has many dopplegangers out there: white, brunette, pretty tall with brown eyes. c'mon, who was i kidding?
