My Everything (Barchie)

Archie's POV

Betty and I had gotten married a couple years ago and she'd always dreamed of starting a family. We had tried for months until she finally told me it was happening, and I was scared shitless"

All I could think about was how I was going to screw it up

Betty- "I can't believe it Archie! It's really happening" she jumped into my arms and wrapped her legs around my waist. Archie- t-this is a-amazing Betty" she started crying happy tears into my shoulder as I stared off into the distance thinking about everything that could go wrong

Betty- (sniffles) "you're okay with this.. right?" Archie- "baby of course I am, sorry I'm just in shock" she nodded before hugged me again.

The morning after Betty told me she was pregnant, she started planning everything. Where the nursery was and baby names. She suggested Freddie and my heart sunk. Of course I wanted to honour my dad but I knew that I'd never be as good as a father then he was so I just nodded when she said it

After the first couple weeks, I started to feel a little bit better then before. It was probably because seeing Betty sick made me realize that it made her happy and that's all a cared about for now

Betty- (sniffles) "I know it will be worth it but this sucks" Archie- "I know baby, but it will be over soon" she leaned into my arms on the bathroom floor as I kissed the top of her head. Archie- "I love you" Betty- "I love you too" I picked her up after a while and carried her back to our bed

Betty- "do you think you could order some Pop's? I'm hungry" Archie- "sure Betty, just your regular" she nodded before closing her eyes to take a quick nap.

While she was sleeping I went to go pick up our Pop's and I ran into Veronica and Reggie with their two year old son

Veronica- "hey Archikins, how's Betty feeling?" Archie- "she's still not great but she asked for some food so I'm just trying to be a good husband" Veronica- "those are the best"

she kissed Reggie's cheek as he rubbed his son's head. Archie- "if Betty's feeling up to it, do you guys want to have a boy, girl night tonight?" Veronica- "sure, we'd love that just text us what time"

We said our goodbyes as I picked up Betty and I's food before heading back home. I went into our bedroom and found her watching tv in bed. Archie- "hey baby, how are you feeling?" Betty- (smiles) "a lot better, did you bring me a burger?"  Archie- "yep, with fries and a large vanilla milkshake" Betty- "you're actually the best, thank you"

I handed her the food before sitting down next to her on the bed. Betty- "Arch? Can we talk?" I immediately turned my head to look at her. Betty- (sighs) "I know you've been acting weird and I know that it's about the baby" I guess I wasn't hiding it as well as I thought I was. Betty- "I'm sorry if I pushed you when you weren't a hundred percent sure" Archie- "what? Baby no that's not it at all"

I cupped her cheek and wiped a tear away from her face. Archie- "I'm just terrified about being a dad. I just don't want to screw it up, but I'm happy to be having a baby with you" Betty- "that's stupid Archie, you're going to be an  amazing father. I have no doubt about that" she smiled and kissed me but I still wasn't feeling the best about the situation

Archie- "oh and I was wondering if you wanted to have a girl's night with Veronica while I have a boys night with Reg?" Betty- "yeah that would be fun, and it would take my mind of the morning sickness" Archie- "perfect, I'll text Reggie in a bit. Is there anything else you need?" Betty- "just some cuddles"

I chuckled and wrapped my arms around her as she cuddled in bed. After a little while we both got up and got dressed to go meet Reggie and Veronica. I was standing in our bedroom with Betty in the bathroom when she screamed

Archie- "Betty?! Are you okay?!" I opened the door and saw her standing in her jeans and bra looking in the mirror. Betty- "look! There's a bump" she turns around and grabs my hands before putting it on her small stomach

Archie- "oh my gosh Betty, that's our baby" I was in shock again and didn't know what to do. I stood up and kissed her. Betty- (in tears) "I can't believe it Arch, I'm going to be a mom"

Seeing Betty so happy made me realize that even though I was terrified she had always wanted to be a mom and seeing that it was finally happening made me happy myself. Archie- "you're going to be the best mom ever" I turned her around so we were both looking in the mirror and I kissed the side of you head.

Archie- "I really can't wait to have a family with you"

She smiled and leaned into my arms. Archie- and in seven months we're gonna stand here with our new little baby. Everything will be okay" Betty- (softly) "are you telling me? or yourself?" Archie- (chuckles) "a little bit of both I think" I heard her little giggled before she kissed me quickly

Archie- "alright, we should probably get going before Veronica rips my head off" Betty- (giggles) "don't worry, you helped make my dream come true so she'll have to be okay with it" I smiled at her comment before we both finished getting ready.

I met Reggie at the Pembroke while Veronica stayed with Betty at the house. Reggie and I had to keep their son Lucas with us and I absolutely loved him.

Lucas- "Arch!" Archie- "hey kiddo!" He ran into my arms as I picked him up. Reggie- "you're gonna have one of your own soon" Archie- "y-yeah" I looked at Lucas before sighing and he could tell I wasn't sure. Reggie- "look, when Ronnie told me about this little guy I was terrified too. It's normal for guys" Archie- "I just know I'm never going to be the dad my dad was, the bar is just too high" Reggie- (chuckles) "he was a good one, but you'll be good too"

We had never really had a deep conversation like that before but if felt good for someone to understand. We didn't really talk about it for the rest of the night and I just went home to Betty after the game

She was already passed out when I got there so I just got in bed and kissed her head. Archie- (whispered) "I love you and our baby so much"

A few months later I was pacing around the hospital waiting room. She had been rushed into an emergency C-section because of some complications and I wasn't allowed in. Veronica and Reggie were by myside but I really just wanted Betty and the baby to be okay

I waited for a couple hours before the doctors came to talk to me. Betty was okay but the Baby was still holding on to life. I immediately ran to my wife as soon as I could, she was sobbing while a couple of nurses was trying to calm her down

Betty- (sobs) "The baby Arch" I held her tightly and stroked her hair as her breath slowed down. Archie- (in tears) "I know, it's okay" we stayed like that until the doctor came in thirty minutes later

Doctor Hamming- "she's okay, she's a strong girl and is already breathing on her own!" Betty and I both let our a sigh of relief. Betty- (sniffles) "w-wait, s-she?" Doctor Hamming- "yes! She's healthy little girl, small but strong. Betty- "can we see her?" Doctor Hamming- (smiles) "yes, in fact she could use a little mommy time"

He rolled in a clear bassinet that held our small daughter. She was small and perfect. The nurses but her on Betty's chest as her small hand wrapped tightly around her finger. Betty- (in tears) "she's perfect" Archie- (smiles) "she really is, we did pretty good"

Everyone left the room as I slowly walked over to Betty. Archie- "what should we name her?" Betty- "I like Lila" Archie- "Lila Mae Andrews" Betty- (sniffles) "I love it"

A couple minutes later, Betty fed her before she handed her to me. I was hesitant about it at first but I took her. I looked in to her small eyes and immediately fell in love. Everything that I had been worried about for the past nine months had left my mind and I knew she and Betty were my everything.
