basically, (oc) ends up "dying" during a mission / battle or something. the others end up holding a funeral(?) for them before going on with their lives.

(oc) isn't dead, though— and soon, they make it back to the monastery / bounty / wherever within a few days.

while (crush/character) is doing something, they spot (oc). they end up doing a double take automatically afterwards.

what happens from there?
