I sat up with a groan, rubbing my eyes to get the sleep out.
I turned to where Minho would usually be but he wasn't there. So I'm guessing he's already out in the maze.
I grabbed my crutches as i slowly stood up, carful not to hurt my foot.
I made my way down the steps so I could get breakfast
"Morning Tia" frypan greeted with a smile
"Goodmorning fry." I pursed my lips as i struggled to grab my tray
"I'll get that for you" a unfamiliar voice spoke making me turn towards the voice,
A tall boy with brown hair, tanned skin and dark brown eyes was standing behind me.
"Who are you?" i spoke handing the boy my tray
"I'm Mathias." The boy stuck out his free hand with a smile
"Well thank you for helping me. I probably would've fell if I tried to do that on my own"
I smiled shaking the boys hand as we walked out of the homestead
"Would you like to sit with us today? It'll be fun"
Mathias smiled big and bright again
"Why not. My table gets on my nerves sometimes anyway" i followed Mathias to his table where two other boys were already sitting
"You shanks know tia right?" Mathias sat down followed by me
"Of course we know her slinthead" the blonde grinned as he looked at me
~newts pov
I sat down at my usual table with Minho, Alby, Chuck, but no Tia?
I furrowed my brows as i looked around for the annoying shank, my eyes landed on the long dark hair of Tia that sat next to a boy i knew as Mathias, he was a good kid. I can't say the same about his mates...
My eyes were glued to Tias back as she spoke to the boys, mentally punching myself for not being close enough to hear their shuck conversation.
"What ya looking at Newt?" I heard Alby speak with wonder as i snapped my head to look at the leader, as he turned to find what I was looking at.
"His girlfriendddd" Minho nudged me as i scowled at him "I'd rather get eaten by a bloody griever." I mumbled
"That's a lie" Minho scoffed
"It is bloody not. I hate her." I groaned
"That a whole load of kl-"
"Slim it!, newt, you're in love with that girl. You look at her like a life line, like nothing else in the world matters, and to be frank, it's sickening." Alby spoke making me furrow my brows as my cheeks burned...
Surely that can't be true.
~back to tias pov
"Well tia. This is Noah and Matt" Mathias motioned to each boy as he spoke their name. But i couldn't rid of the sick feeling I got when Matt looked at me, like his eyes were burning into my figure
"Nice to meet you guys" i smiled before beginning to eat
"So tia, do ya find any of these shanks attractive?" Matt leaned forward a bit as he spoke to me
"Um im not sure" i furrowed my brows with a smile
"Dios mio mi amigo." Mathias spoke and suddenly my ears perked up
"Estos chicos molestos." I mumbled without even thinking before I snapped my head to look at Mathias who's eyes were just as wide as mine
"Tú hablas español?!" Mathias grinned
"I- i don't know it just came out." I shook my head. Not fully comprehending what I just did
"Try it again, amiga" Mathias begged
"What do i say?" I furrowed my brows as i could still feel the two other boys eyes on me
"Tell me who you think is attractive in the glade" Mathias whispered to me
"If you tell anyone I'll slit your throat" i whispered harshly back
"Okay okay I won't" Mathias reassured
"Okay... creo que newt es bastante atractivo."
I closed my eyes as I spoke
