In the morning I woke up at around 7am and went to the kitchen to make breakfast. I grabbed my pink frilly apron I stole from Hero. I went and grabbed the sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt from the cabinets and the eggs, milk, and butter from the fridge.
About half an hour later I heard Aubrey run down the stairs shouting, "I SMELL PANCAKESSSS!!"
"Well good morning there Aubrey!" I laughed to myself a bit. I have no idea how she can wake up with so much energy. "Yup! Chocolate chip pancakes! I'm thinking of possibly making some extras to bring over to Basil's when I go check up on Sunny ." I said as I tossed 3 fresh pancakes onto a plate and slid it over to Aubrey.
We both finished eating and cleaned up the kitchen in about half an when suddenly there was a knock at the door.
"KNOCK KNOCKKKKK!! LET US INNN!!" I could recognize that voice from anywhere. It was Kel and Hero, probably coming over for breakfast.
"Come in!" I shouted as I began on the dishes. Before I knew it in came the brothers heading to sit down at the kitchen island.
"So you know how it's Sunny's birthday in a few weeks, right?" Hero said leaning forward as though he was trying to keep it a secret.
"What if we threw a big party for him!!" Kel exclaimed interrupting Hero before he could say the idea. "Well not exactly a BIG big party, but like a big sleepover with all six of us! We haven't done that in sooooooooo long~~" He then shot up and ran to the living room to grab something.
"That doesn't sound like a bad idea!! Where are you thinking of doing it?" I said curiously, turning to face Hero.
" Well... We haven't thought that far. Probably there since it's his birthday but I know your parents are weird about having us all over without them." Hero said messing with something on the bottom of the counter top. "We could try talking to our parents but with Sally around we would have to call the night early."
"I can talk to Polly about using their house for it later! I have to go check on Sunny soon anyways since he had a sleepover with Basil last night." I said putting the last few dishes away. Almost as if on queue Kel came in holding a charmingly bad drawing of a cake with some writing around it.
He slammed the paper onto the table like a secret agent with a super important mission plan. "Here's the game plan! We are gonna make this cake," he pointed to the drawing, "we have to get it done in the morning and can't let Sunny see it. Then we will go and have a picnic at around lunchtime like we normally do. You guys have to act natural like nothing is going on and like we don't know it's his birthday. Then right before clean up me and Hero suddenly will get a call and have to head home. That's where you and Aubrey come in," he pointed towards me with a cheeky look on his face, "you are going to keep him busy, bring him to Hobeez or Gino's and keep him out in tone until about 3pm. While you are out me and Hero will get everything set up at whichever houe we end up hosting it. Then, as you walk through the door... SURPRISE!! We jump out and surprise Sunny with the cake and presents!!"
It took me a minute to process the plan before I could respond, "You know what Kel? That's a really good idea! I've gotta go head to Basil's right now so I will talk to Polly about it while I'm there."
Hero and Kel head to the living room to pack up the plans Kel brought out and Aubrey headed upstairs to get her shoes on to head to Basil's with me.
~Basil~
I woke up to find Sunny leaned over resting his head on my stomach. I was so shocked that I chocked on my own spit a bit before gently trying to move him so I could get up. Before I could even move him an inch he let out a small groan and nuzzled his head into me. I laid back in defeat. I turned my head to the small clock I had on my night stand and saw it was only 7am. Since it was still pretty early I decided to fall back asleep and let Sunny rest longer.
