Worry

Basil was taking a bit longer than I thought he would and it started to worry me. To keep myself focused on something else I decided to just pick up the blankets off the floor. By the time I was almost finished Basil came back into the room. He seemed off? I don't exactly know what about him seemed off but he just didn't seem like he did before he went to shower. I wanted to ask about what happened but I just left it alone incase it was something he didn't want to talk about at the moment. I'll probably ask him about it later today. I was spacing out until I realized he started talking to me. All I heard him say was, "... I would have helped you."

I sat there for a moment trying to figure out what he was saying before realizing it was probably about the room. "I don't mind." I replied, wandering over to a bin in the corner of the room full of bags. I found one in there that was a burlap over the shoulder bag with a sunflower embroidered on the front of it. "Is it alright if I use this to put my stuff in?"

Basil shot around to look at what I was holding, "Huh? Oh! Of course. I think breakfast is finished so I'm gonna head out there and get some. Do you want any too?" He seemed more jumpy and avoidant and normal.

I hesitantly said, "Sure, I'll come out here with you." I didn't want him to go alone because the way he was acting. I shoved all my clothes in the bag and waited for Basil to head out the door before following right behind. It smelled like bacon as soon as the door was opened. Polly looked over to the hallway and gave us a smile.

"Hello boys, I'm glad you see you two are awake! Make sure you get some breakfast before it's cold." She pointed to the plate of bacon and toast on the counter. Basil went over and made plates for the both of us and brought it to the table as we sat down. "What was that with you and Aubrey about earlier?" Basil shot his head up, his face looking slightly embarrassed.

"Oh! U-Um it was nothing. Sunny was just sleeping and Aubrey was trying to w-wake him up." Basil let out a nervous giggle before shooting his gaze back down to his breakfast. About 10 minutes pass and I take mine and Basil's plate to the sink before heading to grab my bag and shoes to head to the park.

"Bye boys! Basil, make sure you call and let me know what you are doing after the picnic" Polly shouted out as Basil opened the door.

"Will do Polly! We are heading out now." Basil turned and we both began our walk to the park.

"So... What was that with Aubs this morning?" I said barely loud enough to be legible.

Basil seemed to freeze in his place for a moment before clearing his throat, " U-Um, while you were sleeping you moved and your arm landed across me and she walked in and made it a big deal hehe." He seemed very abrupt about his answer. I didn't want to pry but too many things were bugging me. I made a puzzled expression, though still looking at the ground as we continued walking. Before i could figure out how to bring up when he came back from the shower we were already at the park and could already hear hero and Aubrey bickering back in the hide out. Basil and I rush back to meet with everybody and as soon as we stepped foot past the trees Aubrey came running over to us, throwing her arms over out shoulders.

"What's up boys!' She said with a mischievous smirk as she looked between the 2 of us. "Soooooo~ Sunny, where you comfortab-"

Basil blurted out, "Hey everyone. S-Sorry for running a little late," effectively cutting Aubrey off. I turned my head to look over at Basil, worry filled my mind. Aubrey ran back over to the group and sat on the blanket while Basil ad I went over to the tree we usually sit at during the picnics. Something still felt off, almost like a pit in my stomach but i still didn't know how to bring it up. Maybe after everyone leaves i can try and talk to him about it again.

The picnic carried on as usual, Kel scarfing down food as Aubrey fights back to save some for everybody else. Mari just enjoying the view of the late. We stayed back there for most of the day. For a while Aubrey, Kel, and Hero were taking turns jumping off the statue in the middle of the lake. "OK! ON THE COUNT OF 3 IM GONNA CANON BALL!!" Kel announced to everybody still at the picnic, "3! 2! WOAHH!!!" Aubrey snuck up behind him and shoved him off the statue before he could finish his count down. I let out a small chuckle at their antics, Mari also let out a laugh before telling Aubrey off about how Kel could have gotten hurt. Basil on the other hand didn't seem to notice. He was just staring at a little daisey on the ground that had started to wilt.

"Basil?" I said lightly, tapping his shoulder to get his attention. He jumped a bit before turning to look at me with a small smile resting across his lips.

Hellooo!!! We are back in business!!! I hope this chapter was worth the wait, i apologize for how long it took to come out, i got stuck on a few scenes and had really bad writers block for a while but i am back to working on this for as long as i can. I'm going to try and get a few chapters done within the next few days so that if that sort of thing happens again I'll still be able to put out more of the story for you all!! ^^
