Affogato asked, incredibly confused.

"I mean, he's mean to me, even when I'm as kind as ever! He's never empathetic either."

Madeleine rambled on how much he 'hated' Espresso, opening the door to Affogatos house as he slid in,

"Interesting."

"Look, all I'm saying is that I think Madeleine was the kickstart to you being healthy! Come on, I care about you, Espresso."

"I know you do."

Espresso sighed, all of this talk about Madeleine making him feel worse.

"How'd he even convince you to do all this?"

Latte asked, genuinely curious on how he managed to that when she couldn't even get him to say hi to her outside.

"I don't know, he's persuasive."

"Persuasive? I'm more persuasive than him, there has to be something else."

Latte crossed her arms, shaking her head as she though about any other possibilities.

"Ughh— I can't think! What is it?!"

She put her hands on her shoulder, shaking Espresso as to get the answer of out him.

"I don't know?!"

"Yes you do!"

"How would you know?"

Madeleine stared at him, his expression confused.

"Do you actually hate him?"

Affogato stared into his eyes, slightly squinting.

"I mean— No. But yes."

"Nevermind, you haven't changed at all."

Espresso held up his hands to his face,

Latte put her hands back down onto her lap,

"What are you hinting at?"

"What I'm saying, is that I know you don't hate him like you say you do. It's clear. Crystal clear."

Madeleine laid down in his guest bed, his head dumped into a bucket of water,

"This isn't working."

Espresso was sat on the coach still, his hands still up to his face,

Latte spoke, expecting him to say more about Madeleine.
