Personality: Ashito is a upbeat, positive and energetic boy. He is sometimes described to be like Endou but unlike Endou who never gives up, if something gets too hard for him he is quick to question his skills and become disheartened. He lacks the confidence to do new things if he doesn't feel like he has support behind him, which he grows out of in Ares/Orion. Like Endou he is a moral booster for the teams he is on, while Endou protects the goal he uses his Libero position and guides the team forward. He is hardworking, strong willed and has a loud voice to match. He can be clumsy at times but he doesn't let his clumsiness stop him from doing what he loves.

Backstory: When he was a child, Ashito spent a lot of time with his cousin, Mamoru, in the Endou household. One day while playing they stumbled upon their grandfathers belongings in the storage room in the backyard. Both him and Endou became quickly amazed by the soccer world and wanted to play. Ashito's mother being the younger sister of Endou's mother didn't know their father as much, was immediately on board with Ashito playing soccer, even after knowing about their fathers death. Ashito was happy but after finding out Endou couldn't play he decided to wait until the male could.
When he was finally allowed the two would play together all of the time, Ashito at first wanted to be a goalkeeper but in the end found being a Defender was more fun. While playing soccer both Ashito and Endou met Kudou Fuyuka as kids and were very close friends with the girl. Ashito having a small crush on the girl as a child, so he was sad when they lost touch to the girl. He continued to play soccer with Endou.
Other:
• Hinata, Ashito's sister, is close friends with Yuuka during season 3 of the anime and Ares/Orion. In Go they are close friends who go to the same school.
• In the Original series, instead of Kurimatsu Teppei being captain after Endou graduates, Ashito becomes captain.
• In Ares, Ashito followed his cousin to Tonegawa Tousen and becomes the vice captain of the team. He helped Endou with the team training them in what Endou couldn't do.
• After Orion, he stayed in Tonegawa Tousen and continued to support the team he helped create. He supported Sakanoue by being the vice captain instead of the captain. He found he was better for that role, supporting others.
• In the original series, he had a crush on Kudou Fuyuka as a child which only grew when he met her again in season 3. It was a one sided crush for a long time until they got older. Ashito married the girl in the anime but in the go games, Dark version, she was taken by Endou.
