"not even a thank you?"

⚓︎

time was running out, and the thought of luffy enduring torment at the hands of that ridiculous clown weighed heavily on my mind as we remained imprisoned in the green room. fortunately and unfortunately, i still had my dagger with me, but it's useless seeing zoro can't use his hands to catch it nor can nami use it for lock-picking.

nami was swift with her fingers, but picking the lock was proving to be a time-consuming task. just then, we heard the sound of someone approaching.

"someone's coming," zoro grumbled, his frustration evident. the ropes tied around his limps weren't doing him any favors.

"i need more time. keep them distracted," nami urged, her voice tinged with panic.

"i don't talk, i hit things." zoro responded with his characteristic bluntness.

i decided to step in. "leave this one to me. i got this." i smile confidently, wanting to help them out, because that is why i ended up in this position in the first place.

just as i say that, an emo looking clown comes in riding a unicycle.

"yeah, forget what i said," i mumbled under my breath.

the clown approached zoro with heavy steps. "remember me?"

zoro's reply was predictably unenthusiastic. "no. must be some other homicidal, unicycle-riding clown." his deadpan delivery was on point.

the clown responded by punching zoro in the gut. "i've been thinking about you for years."

"that's kinda fruity. i like that," i chimed in, taking a bite out of an apple i had mysteriously found lying nearby.

zoro shot me an incredulous look. "where the hell did you even get that from?"

i shrugged casually. "it was just lying there. why not eat it? i was hungry anyways."

zoro rolled his eyes at my nonchalant response, while the watermelon looking head scrunched his nose in disgust.

"gross..."

i glanced over at nami, who was still struggling with the lock. a thought crossed my mind: should i just kill this kid with my dagger?

but before i could make a decision, he continued his rambling, "i've been thinking about how you killed my brother."

zoro couldn't help but reply, "i've killed a lot of pirates."

the clown identified himself, "my name's cabaji, and a couple of years ago, you hunted us down across the goa kingdom. you followed us for weeks through the swamplands, day and night..." his hands went for his own daggers, but his words hung in the air briefly before my dagger found its mark, hitting cabaji's head and splattering some of his blood onto zoro, who remained completely unfazed. cabaji's body slumped to the ground with a thud.

"sorry, cabaji. you were distracting nami," i remarked, causing nami's eyes to widen as she stared at cabaji's lifeless body sprawled on the ground. the lock on her cage had finally been opened.

she approached zoro and skillfully used one of cabaji's daggers to free him.

"wow, not because you were trying to save me?" zoro asked, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"that would be my second choice," i replied casually.

"i regret saving you now."

i tilted my head, wearing a smug smile. "i saved your life just now, and you're not even saying thank you?"

zoro let out a resigned sigh. "whatever. it makes us even now," he muttered, looking away while collecting his weapons. meanwhile, nami continued working on unlocking my cage.

i shifted my focus to nami, genuine concern in my voice. "hey, are you okay? you look a bit shaken," i asked.

nami offered a reassuring smile. "oh, don't worry (name). it's nothing..."

i knew she was lying.

"alright," i replied with a small smile, "if you say so."

zoro chimed in, getting right to the point. "so, what's the plan?" he asked as the lock on my cage was finally opened.

i shrugged casually, leaving it to nami to provide an answer.

"you do have a plan right? that's your thing, plans." zoro insisted in a sassy tone.

nami glanced at me and smirked. "i say," she began, "we beat the hell out of every clown we see."

"i like her." i chimed in, recalling what she had said to me earlier. i reached for my bow and arrows, ensuring not to forget my dagger.

"yeah, you do," zoro acknowledged, and we all set off together to rescue luffy.

at last, i left the room, my eyes catching a glimpse of some explosives that could come in handy.

hang in there elastiboy! we're coming!

5 mins later —

"you want out? you know the price you have to pay," buggy's smirk turned into a frown as his eyes followed luffy's pointing finger.

i stood ready next to nami with my bow and arrow, the arrowhead tied to an explosive. seeing this, buggy quickly moved out of the way. i released my arrow, striking the glass imprisoning luffy, causing it to shatter and water to spill out.

buggy started to freak out, shouting, "WHERE ARE MY FREAKS?"

zoro finally made his entrance, wielding two swords.

"they're not coming."
