Wow. Wasn't that a blast to the past?
Reposting this old draft reminded me of how much I changed in the polished series (that was a 2-year labor of love), and how far my writing skills have come since 2017.
A huge thank you to everyone who stuck along for the ride and survived the plot holes and grammar issues. Some of the conversations I had with readers were fantastic and some of the comments in the story were priceless.
A round of applause to some editors who helped me skim through and find most of the typos and missing words before I reposted it: _Esli_, BookWyrm11, Misain, decadentduck, as well as a few others who helped out (and to all those who helped between 2017 and 2020 while the old draft was still posted).
Thank you to all the awesome readers who stuck around through it.

This was my fifth book (which was later revised, polished, and posted seperately as The Virus Within Series).
The first chapter was originally posted on: April 22, 2017
~333,330 words (Roughly 610pages in a word document – single-spaced)
(By contracst, the revised version is 812,000 words
Fanfiction & Spinoffs:
I've had a few inquiries, and yes, people may write fanfictions and spinoffs using my story world and zombie rules as long as proper credit is given. (Please note that this does not allow you to copy my story.) Please list my story title and username in either your summary and/or Chapter one.
Example: My story was inspired by 'The Virus Within', which was written by @CrystalScherer.
If you want, when you post it, let me know and I can add it to my reading list, which is dedicated to such spinoffs. Some people also add the tag 'CrystalScherer' to their spinoffs so they are easier to find.
Please note that I do not accept offers to translate my story as I would need those language rights if I ever publish it.
