CHAPTER 15

“Romanov, Selene...” Nico said when they stopped in front of us. Steve only nodded at him. “Hello, Lucas. Solene.” Baling niya kay Solene na walang reaction hindi gaya noong unang kita nila.

“Who is she?” Lucas curiously asked and glanced at Riley who's beside Nico.

“I'm with my girlfriend, Riley,” he said, and he glanced at Riley beside him, who smiled at Lucas. “Riley, these are Lucas, Solene, Steve, and Selene.” He pointed at us one by one.

Riley smiled shyly. “Nice meeting you guys,” she said.

Steve smiled at her.

“Nice meeting you too, pretty!” Nahihiyang bati ni Lucas.

Kapag talaga magaganda nagkakaganyan.

Bahagyang yumuko si Riley kay Lucas. “Hi, baby!” she greeted.

“She's beautiful!” Lucas exclaimed, amazed and looked at Nico.

“She is.” Nico chuckled. Pumulupot ang isang braso nito sa bewang ni Riley. Napatitig naman ako roon ng ilang sandali.

“Where are you going, Mr?” Lucas asked.

Nico glanced at me before he answered. Umiwas ako ng tingin. “We're about to eat lunch,” he answered.

Lucas eyes twinkled in excitement. “Really?! We're about to eat too!” he said. Luminga ito sandali sa paligid at tinaas ang kamay sa isang direksyon. “Doon rin po ba kayo?” turo ni Lucas sa restaurant na kakainan namin.

Nico looked at where he pointed. I remained silent. I felt Steve's hands on my waist who's also silent.

We are just staring at Lucas talking to his Dad—Nico.

Binalik niya ang tingin sa anak. Nico glanced at me. “Actually, yes,” he slowly replied.

Lucas clapped his hands happily. “Amazing! You can join us! If you want to!” he exclaimed.

I bit my lower lip when I heard that. I looked at my son and was about to speak when Nico spoke first.

“You should ask your mom first about that boy,” he said and looked at me and Steve beside me.

I gulped. I looked at my son looking at me while cutely smiling at me. Bumaling ito kay Nico pagkatapos. “I think my mom doesn't mind it! And Daddy Steve!”

I narrowed my eyes to Lucas. Lagot ka sakin mamaya pag-uwi bata ka. Pala desisyon, ah?

I felt Steve's breath near my ear and whispered. “It's okay, Selene, let Lucas be with his Dad.” I feel the slight tickle of his breath on my ear.

I looked at him sideward. I let out a heavy sigh. 

I faked a smile and looked at them.  “Ah, I'm okay with it, how about you Riley?” I asked and stared at his girlfriend if she's okay with it.

Nagulat ito sa tanong ko, hindi inaasahan. She cleared her throat. “I-It’s fine with me,” she answered and smiled.

“Then let's go eat, I'm already hungry po.” Biglang sabat ni Solene at naglakad na ng una sa amin. Agad naman kaming sumunod sa kanya.

Sabay kaming lahat pumasok sa restaurant. May ilan na napapatingin sa direksyon namin. Hindi ko iyon pinansin at diretso lang ang tingin. Sino ba naman ang hindi titingin sa direksyon namin kung puro gwapo at matipuno ang dalawang lalaking kasama namin? Even though they're wearing casual clothes, their dominating aura can't be ignored easily.

May lumapit na waiter sa amin at ginaya kami sa isang lamesa na para sa anim na tao. Katabi ko si Steve at si Solene naman sa kabila. Habang si Lucas naman ay nasa kabilang gilid ni Solene na katabi kay Nico.
