Meanwhile, in Plumorita, there was a colossal mothership just outside the legal air space of Nebulis. It had been built with parts from a harvest site. It was enormous and had starships coming and going through its many hangars. Deep inside the mothership was a meeting being held by five biozoids assembled from around the galaxy. They were in a dark room standing around a hologram of Alpha Maximus. They never knew what physical form he would take each meeting. He was a form of evolving memory able to control or take over anything cybernetic, simultaneously - an autonomous virus.  Among the assembly were WarFace and The Laughing Shadow, and another they called  "Black Horse".

"I'm getting bored with this little chess game! Though you are one of my finest trophies, I might have to dispose of you like trash," Alpha Maximus said to WarFace. "This offspring of yours - Ezrith Helix - is making my circuits flare with agitation.  And you, Shadow - How could you let thirty-two percent of the Shinobi Nobles army slip through your fingers? You're a sad excuse for anything possessing intelligence. WarFace, your son thinks he can follow suit to your past life of thinking you can eradicate me! I promise you he will fail just as you have! But this time, I'll eradicate the very Helix name! It's time to acquire new chess pieces. You all know what to do. Meeting adjourned,"  Alpha Maximus said, just before his hologram vanished.

and Akira's six-year-old son - was sparring with his uncle & sensei, Ato (who was now twenty years old) in a hi-tech training facility called the omni-chamber. The omni-chamber was a room designed to simulate different battlefronts in different environments.

Smiling to himself as he watched Oasis fight artificially intelligent holograms three times his size in the style of noble fist, Ato could see that Oasis had the potential to be a great young warrior like he was. Just then, Ato caught a flashback of the day he met Shellshock on the Darksiders' training facility in the Bangorian asteroid belt near Solara years back. He wondered what it would've been like if he became a Darksider. What if he never ran into Max and Akira during the riot on Zynnis? Or, what if he had gotten deported back to Volcrim? Maybe he would have reached the top of Volcrim's society. But he knew that The Laughing Shadow would always rule with an iron scepter on Volcrim, no matter how much power anyone else tried to gain. And since The Laughing Shadow was under Alpha Maximus, no one who wanted change in that system would get ahead. Though he often wondered otherwise, Ato knew that his present life situation had to be the best one possible. He also knew that the Origin Project he was now a part of was the only positive equalizer for all hope-have-nots around the galaxy.
