Headcanon: After the Events of Redgrave City and Virgrid (Bayonetta 3 takes place there instead of Tokyo) correlated to people with supernatural powers, which the two governments of England and Spain were somehow able to hide these events, but the higher ups of Umbrella corporations were able to review some of the files, which brought them to the discovery of the Sonnestoppe and the Progenitor Virus, from which they developed their research.
TL:DR = The Progenitor Virus came from the Underworld.
Backstory: Y/N was an Orphan who was sold to Umbrella as test subject due to his hyperactivity and his predisposition to the experiment as his blood vials test were sent to Umbrella like any other kid in said orphanage for testing and sometimes they were used to see how would the virus react to said blood.
