Flashback  May 26, 1989

Charlie Pov (")

I lifted her in my arms to take her to the couch to cuddle, while rubbing her back until I heard small snores. I know she's scared but so am I. I'm scared that I'm not going to be good the second time around. While looking at her I'm so glad I planned our date where I asked her to be exclusive, but I'm nervous she'll think it's only because of this news. Watching her like a creep I ended up falling asleep for an hour, after I decided to get up to make some late lunch.

Selene (Nia) Pov

I slowly woke up to the smell of something delicious, I made my way to the kitchen to see what Charlie was cooking. I stood back to watch him cook I laughed a little thinking how proud I am of him. After stalking him a little I decided to make my presence known. 'Hey.' "Hey beautiful, how are you feeling? Did you sleep well?" I don't know who I should thank for this man but my emotions took over and I ran into his arms. 'Charlie... I know this is too soon and I also know that I have no idea what to do or how to. I admit my insecurities and over-thinking got the best of me at this moment. I don't know how I'll be a mom expectantly a bonus mom for his daughter, shoot I haven't even met her or Renee and she might not be too keen of a stranger around her child that's why we set boundaries with his daughter. I must have just blanked too long because the next thing I felt was lips on my lips, and I just melted.

Charlie Pov

"Hey, I know there's a lot to decompress here but please just take a breath okay? One you have nothing to apologize for, it was a team effort. I joked. I know this was sudden and neither of us expected our relationship to progress as fast but I love you and.. 'What?' 'What did you just say?' Nia said with curiosity. "Um, Um damn it! I had this whole date planned out to propose an exclusive relationship and to tell you I care for you but....Sorry." 'I love you too' Nia said. "So we need to come up with a plan, what do you think? Marriage?" 'Not yet and don't cancel the surprise please.' Nia asked. 'How about talking about it some more in detail like telling our friends, family, exes, daughter, and so on? I would also like to meet your ex Renee so we can create a bridge for a relationship with each other plus Bella.' Nia asked. Right there I knew I was going to marry this woman if it's the last thing I do. We ate lunch and discussed our plans from now on.

When we landed at PHX Nia and I went to baggage claim, I could tell how nervous she was and she had every reason. Renee can be a bit on edge so we plan to we check in, I go to Renee's to chat and help Bells pack. Then Nia and Renee can go to coffee to chat. I pulled up at Renee's house and saw my princess wobble to me with the cutest smile on her face, I got out to meet her. With plenty of hugs and kisses, I walked to greet Renee, but she kept looking at the rental. "She's not here Renee." 'So the slut decided to respect boundaries?' Renee huffed. "Okay Renee I'm going to need you not to disrespect my girlfriend, and it wasn't like that we laid out boundaries well before this and I told you that the last time I visited. We walk further into the house "So what can we do to make this happen?" 'Well, first not to be condescending then don't give me an ultimatum for it.' "Okay I understand your feelings Renee but that's not at all what happened we asked you because it's respectable. Now you can go have tea with her and talk everything out or not." 'You know what will help me right now is you not jumping in another relationship knocking someone up and excepting everything will just be fine. Believe it or not, I'm doing it for my daughter to protect her from this ever-changing roller coaster you have us on. And another thing that will just put the icing on the cake is to pretend that you loved me and not jump into a situation without caring about my feelings!' Renee stated. "Wow, Renee you wanted out and I agreed, we both knew this wasn't going to last.... of course I loved you Renee it's not like something I could've turned off. Yes it broke my heart but you know what Renee pining after you wouldn't have accomplished anything, now this whole time I've stroked your ego and respected your feelings. I've tried the gentle approach but now I'm done. What is wrong with you? I mean honestly if you don't talk about it what can we possibly solve moving forward believe it or not Renee my daughter will be in my life and with my life comes my girlfriend and our unborn child. So you can grow up for just a second and communicate your concerns like an adult so we can move forward." 'I can't believe you just said that to me...to grow up? Really me the single parent?' "You are right that was the wrong word I apologize but the question remains, what can we do to move forward?" You are right and I'm sorry I've just had a hard time coming to terms with this and when I think about it it'll be amazing to have an extra hand in all of this.' Renee said. She wants to meet at any coffee shop of your choosing, I'll call her to inform her
