A Twist In Time?

CHAPTER 4

Ji-han's eyes darkened as he saw what was marked on the tree. Eun-cha noticed the change and looked at the mark closely and realized it.. It was the mark of four scratches painted in dried blood with one scratch cutting through the opposite side of the other four.. It was the mark of the clan who had betrayed the whole unity for their needs..

"Uhh you both okay?"

Yun-ho asked, glancing at the mark.. Eun-cha nodded, looking at the direction the two troopers went.

"We need to get back to camp."

Tae-mi said, sensing the change in the atmosphere. The other three nodded. Just as Yun-ho was about to ask which they had to go, they heard a voice behind them, which only Ji-han recognized..

"Look what we have here! A jackpot!"

The person chuckled, drawing his bow and arrows. The four drew their weapons in a flash and Ji-han said, his voice deep and cold,

"What do you want now Him-chan, wasn't taking my sister's life enough?"

Him-chan let out a sinister laugh. He looked at Ji-han dead in the eye and said

"Oh I was just warming up that time Sung"

He laughed again, looking at Eun-cha now. She glared at him, clutching her daggers..

"What are you here for?!"

Yun-ho asked, getting annoyed.

"You're on my turf now, it's commonly called 'tress-passing' "

He said, his men, getting their weapons out.. Him-chan set his target on the girls, walking to them with his bow.. Tae-mi held her sword ready, studying his intention.. She had an advantage of controlling the time of death.. Him-chan stopped a few meters in front of Ji-han, smirking..

"I wont kill them Ji-han, I'll just have a little fun since it has been too long"

He chuckled and before Ji-han could pounce on him, two of Him-chan's men attacked him and so the fight began, Him-chan battling the two girls, Ji-han and Yun-ho fighting 3 men each..
Him-chan was using only a sword against Tae-mi and a smaller dagger to defend, his tactics, unpredictable. He slashed his sword at Tae-mi and she blocked it, giving Eun-cha the opportunity to attack Him-chan which she did. But what she didn't know was that Him-chan knew she was going to do that and so he let go of Tae-mi and swiftly turned around, swinging his sword at dangerous angles at a lethal speed. Eun-cha didn't flinch, blocking the blows and decided to use her venom on him. She covered her smaller dagger with it, and slid down, piercing it in his leg area. Him-chan chuckled and showed no signs of paralyzing or pain, as he turned suddenly, charging at Tae-mi at an alarming speed, swinging his dagger at her. But Tae-mi dodged it swiftly, defending herself when she felt her back pressed to a tree. Taking the opportunity, Him-chan used his dagger, throwing it towards her. Tae-mi widened her eyes, dodging it, but not enough as it cut through her shoulder, blood spurting out.. Eun-cha flung her sword at Him-chan aiming for his neck area as he had turned around.. It pierced into his flesh, but before Eun-cha could register anything, she heard a yell,

"EUN-CHA LOOK OUT!"

--AT THE NIGHTSPIRE TRAINING CAMP, BREAKFAST TIME--

"Has anyone seen Hyun-bae?"

Ha-yoon asked, eating her 2nd banana. Hye-ri shook her head and said,

"Min-young knows"

Min-young looked up from her food, chewing it and said with a stuffed mouth

"I don't"

Ha-yoon finished her banana, tossing the peel into the dustbin. Just then, a person came in with another man. It was Hyun-bae with General Kim..

"Hi guys, General Kim wants to talk to us"

Hyun-bae said, sitting down next to Ha-yoon while the General sat on an individual chair. He looked at the four girls and said

"I'm going to get straight to the point, You all have skills better than the other women here and I'd like you all to be the Queen's personal bodyguards.. As you know she has no protection except the general and a few soldiers which is not enough as I need to be elsewhere most of the time. The whole point I came here was for this reason."

The girls looked at each other and looked back at the general

"Of course sir, we'd be honored to serve the Queen"

Min-young said with a soft smile. Hye-ri, Hyun-bae and Ha-yoon all nodded, making General Kim confident he chose right..

"Good, report in front of the Castle gates tomorrow before dawn"

With that, he stood up, walking away. 

"BEFORE DAWN?! I HAVE TROUBLE GETTING UP BY BREAKFAST TIME!"

Hye-ri whined out, slumping into her chair.. Min-young chuckled, relating to her.

"Well we need to be up early tomorrow!"

Ha-yoon said and the others nodded, solemnly.. They then decided to go have practice again, to improve their defense.. Hyun-bae and Min-young were practicing together, switching roles by attacking/defending. Ha-yoon and Hye-ri practiced controlling their powers..

--30 MINUTES LATER--

As the girls were resting now, they were having a casual conversation when Min-young heard something, making her puzzled, giving her a feeling of familiarity..
