A Twist In Time?

CHAPTER 6

Everyone looked at Ji-han, Tae-mi and Yun-ho who were confused themselves.. Him-chan showed up out of nowhere and disappeared into thin air..

"Ji-han who was that?"

Yun-ho asked, looking at his friend who had a bitter expression on his face.. He gritted his teeth and said

"Hwang Him-chan. He is part of the flovers clan who attacked and trafficked, raped and killed many other clans and especially women.."

He picked up his sword and daggers, keeping them back in his scabbard. Yun-ho nodded to his answer and looked at Tae-mi. She looked at him and sighed, saying

"We should head back, it's a little too late here.."

Everyone nodded, Just as Hye-ri, Min-young, Ha-yoon and Hyun-bae were about to follow them, Yun-ho stopped them and said

"Woah there you four can't come along!"

The four girls were confused,

"What why?"

Hyun-bae asked, to which Tae-mi stepped up and said

"Yun-ho is right I'm afraid, you guys are on the side of our opponent.."

The girls realized and nodded solemnly, not having much of a choice than to agree. Hye-ri said, with a small smile

"Well, It was so good to meet you after a whole 15-year span Tae-mi.. And the boys too ya'll look good"

She laughed a little, showing a thumbs-up earning a chuckle from the two boys.. They bowed and said their goodbyes, parting ways.. Tae-mi sighed and turned to the boys

"Now which way?"

Ji-han pointed to a stream flowing towards the western side which led them deep inside the forest and to their village. While walking, Ji-han said

"We need to get Eun-cha back soon"

Tae-mi clutched her dagger in her hand in anger and said

"Oh you think I would've let that asshole take her? HECK NO"

Ji-han sighed, Yun-ho stopped to take a break for some water.. They crouched and scooped some water, drinking it.. 

"Him-chan has a grudge against me, so he probably took Eun-cha as bait for me to come.."

Ji-han said, washing the bloodstains on the daggers.. Tae-mi and Yun-ho looked at him in confusion.

"Okay but, How did he know that Eun-cha was the one he should take as hostage? What in damn hell is he going to do to her?"

Yun-ho asked, curiosity burning inside.. Tae-mi nodded, agreeing to what he asked as they were valid questions. Ji-han said

"I don't know how he knew about Eun-cha, but I know that he will not kill her. He might just bruise her up a little but he won't kill her. He needs her alive if I were to come."

He sighed, standing up making the other two also stand up.. They resumed their journey in silence and reached just as the sun was setting.. 

--FLASHBACK : 3 years back--

It was all smiles and laughter the day, it was a birthday party of a lad turning 20.. He was celebrating it with his sister, and three friends.. Fairly small yet a memorable one.. a little too memorable..

"Oppa! Not like that!"

The girl laughed, showing her brother how the dance went and he laughed, trying it her way.. She smiled widely, feeling satisfied.. They were at the riverbank, playing around as her brother was about to go to the training camp for his service in the clan's army, which was preparing every adult of ages 20 and above to fight ; be it a girl or boy because a war could break out anytime and the clan needed numbers as well as strategic planning.. The boy wanted to spend his twentieth birthday only with his best friends and his beloved sister.. She was just 14.. 

They decided to play Ice water, running around and catching, freezing the person and the other melting the person.. They were having fun when the boy's sister, gave out a shriek.. The four friends rushed there to see a man and another boy, around the same age as the four friends with his sister.. She was being held tightly in the arm, preventing her from running.. The man who was probably in his 40's said with a cunning grin, pointing to the girl,

"Is this your sister lad?"

His accent seemed foreign, but it wasn't the point at the time. The brother of the girl stepped up with balled fists and said boldly

"Let.her.go"

The man laughed, which seemed evil, he looked at the girl with his son and turned to the boy again and said

"Let's see..."

He said, and suddenly he swerved, and a thick fog appeared out of the blue, blurring the vision of the boy and all he could hear was his sister's painful screaming and evil laughs. 

By the time the fog cleared, the two men had disappeared.. But what shocked the boy was what he saw in front of him..

It was his sister... But not with her bright smile and cheery laugh..

It was only a bloody body, stripped and..

dead...

This face, this place, this incident, had traumatized the boy so much, he was on the verge of giving up in leading a life.. However, his friends persuaded him not to, told him to move on, to,

avenge his sister's brutal death..

"Ji-han!"

Yun-ho called out for the 5th time, snapping his fingers in front of a zoned out Ji-han who just sighed, standing up with his scabbard..

"I'm hitting the bed early, I don't feel like eating anymore.."

He said, not waiting for his friend to tell him what he had to say.. Yun-ho decided on telling him the next day and ate in silence with Tae-mi..
