Monica Reyes had arrived in Melbourne a mere 4 hours ago but she still had so much to do. The winter sun danced on her pale skin through the windscreen as she drove through the city streets.
As she pulled into the recording studio back car park she was met with the smiling face of Lana Del Rey waiting just outside her own car. Monica made a swift park and got out of her car to be met with a cool winter breeze on her face.
"Mona!" Lana yelled out with an excited smile on her face pulling the blonde into a long awaited embrace.
"Lani! It has been way too long, how have you been babe?" Monica asked her friend enthusiastically.
"Pretty good actually, busy with planning a wedding but it has been the most magical journey." The two started walking to the front of the building.
"You have to tell me all about these plans of yours, can't wait for that by the way." Monica grinned.
"As soon as we get some privacy." Lana nodded to the small swarm of paparazzi waiting for a Monica appearance, what they didn't know was that she would be accompanied. Monica let out a groan of frustration, why couldn't she ever get an ounce of privacy in her life? There was always someone waiting or someone talking.
Monica and Lana exchanged amused glances and shared a knowing smirk. They had anticipated some media attention, but this was beyond their expectations. Together, they strolled toward the waiting paparazzi, exuding confidence and grace. They made an eye-catching pair, and the photographers were relentless in their pursuit of the perfect shot.
"Looks like we're in for a show," Lana whispered to Monica.
Monica nodded with a mischievous grin. "Let's give them something to talk about." The pair linked arms and looked directly into cameras, an identical smirk on their faces. That will feed the fans just enough but leave them wanting more.
"Monica are you two collaborating?!"
"Lana what are you doing in Australia?!"
"Monica can you comment on your relationship status?!"
As they went through the doors they no longer could be touched by the invasion of the media. The girls burst out into laughter, some people were really pathetic. Jason welcomed the singers into their studio and finished setting up the equipment.
As the producer played the instrumental track, Monica took a deep breath, her heart pounding with nervous excitement. She began to sing, her voice ringing with raw emotion. Her lyrics told a story of love and as she sang, Lana watched her with a knowing smile.
When it was Lana's turn to join in, her voice wove a hauntingly beautiful melody that blended seamlessly with Monica's. The harmonies they created were ethereal, a testament to the power of their shared passion for music.
After the first take, Lana turned to Monica. "You have an incredible voice, Monica. Your emotions shine through in every note. Just remember to breathe deeply and relax; it helps to control your vibrato, especially in the higher notes."
