The altar was set up with such extravagance that it was no wonder that it was a union of the two strongest contenders of the past- the Villars and Sylvesters, that was the thing that most onlookers have thought when they came.

"This is to commemorate the glorious union of Villars and Aigners. Do you accept the union, Mikhail Villar?"

"Gladly" When the vows were exchanged between the bride and groom it was as if the entire chapel was so stunned into silence that even the flapping of dove wings in the background could be deciphered.

Jayden Sylvester looked at the face of the bride when the veil was lifted and felt his fists clenching so hard that protruding veins could be seen on his forehead. It was clearly not his elder sister, no it was an entirely different woman.

Mikhail held the face of his wife gently and pressed a chaste kiss to her lips sealing the fate of Villars and Aigners who were the strongest mafia family in Austria.

Murmurs and whispers were forsaken and people rushed forward to congratulate the two families, it almost seemed like they had not heard about the marriage that was to be between Sylvia and Mikhail and rather this was what they expected. The more the onlookers acted as such, it was clearly evident that this matter was not going to die down in the near future at all.

They wished to gossip so badly yet kept their mouths were shut in order to not offend either Sylvesters or Villars, furthermore, the patriarchs of these two families were talking harmoniously thus it was assumed that they might have made an arrangement benefitting the two families.

"Dante, for a woman you dare forsake your honor? I have lived so long as to see this day, I would have never allowed for such a situation to happen." Like a serpent slithering with venomous fangs, Edgar Villar threw an insult with a smiling face making Dante return the favor back.

"Its not about you not allowing...its just that you cannot, afterall we both share the pain of our wives being dead but unlike me you don't have a daughter. All you possess are beasts hiding in dark waiting for you to die so that they could reign freely." The handshake offered after that was especially brutal as Edgar looked at Dante with raged eyes but a stoic face.

Who in the mafia was not aware that Edgar lost his first wife after a year in marriage, with only a single child, Mikhail, it was impossible for the then patriarch, his father to overlook the absence and tried to get Edgar married again.

Instead the man took his brother's children Orlando and Ezra as his own but there were no daughters. It was the last wish of his late wife to have a daughter but since it wasn't possible no one talked about it anymore.

With joy at one end and humiliation at another, the wedding was concluded soon and when the heirs of Sylvesters returned home Sylvia was called in a meeting where her brothers were present too.

"Sister what were you thinking, how can you marry someone who is without an arm?!" Jayden the eldest of the brothers stood and glared at his sister in anger.

"Respect her choice Jayden. It was Declan who saved her." Dylan who was considered the most harmless of all brothers spoke slowly while giving a reassuring smile to Sylvia.

"He is her bodyguard goddamnit! He is meant to do his fucking duty!"

"Jayden I would support my sister no matter what, stop saying such crude words." Dylan stopped the rude words which made Sylvia tremble.

"Sister but you must really think it through...you cannot take a decision that might ruin your life." The youngest of all Jack could only say so much when he was stopped by Dante.

"Enough" Dante watching the chaos looked at his three sons with a glint in his eyes.

"Sylvia, you have made your choice so now I as your clan leader am making one. From this day onwards your claim to the patriarch position is nullified.

You must leave this castle for you have brought shame upon Sylvester."

"Your name?"

"Its Declan sir."

"I saw how you saved Sylvia's life and I am thankful for that...but my daughter's marriage broke down because of you."

There was silence for some moments on the other end before the person standing before Dante opened his mouth and replied without any emotion.

"I am not an important person, I cannot say I deserve such..devotion."

"Then give it up." When Dante leaned back at his chair sprouting those words there was some provocation in those irises, one that flamed vigorously behind a calm façade. For a person of his stature it was easy crushing a soldier.

But this was not just any soldier.

"I cannot give it up since its not mine. Since the devotion belongs to Miss Sylvia its her right to choose and its my duty to obey."

"Ah! If you will refuse, Sylvia will not have anymore dreams. Furthermore, I remember how I hired you for my daughter, you were a decorated army soldier so your future still has immense possibilities. If not by your strength.." The mafian mob boss glanced at his missing arm for a while before continuing.

"..then by your wit."

"Sir, I will not refuse her." There was a reason why Dante hired Declan out of all those who he wished to have the opportunity to climb up the status by standing behind the princess of Sylvesters.

This man was a crazy bastard who did not backed down, if a day arrived when he would be killed even then he would protect Sylvia. Such was the stubbornness Dante saw in Declan and also such were the reasons why this man was still alive after going after his precious daughter.

Like a monster he would survive till the end.

"If I banish Sylvia today, all you will have is a begging bowl for both you and her, if you refuse my offer to take the money and go away..I promise that you would not live well Declan."

"I still have an apartment in city, its not as lavish as the Sylvester castle yet still it does not lacks to provide." The male bowed respectfully before completely ignoring the threats.

"And what you will earn with a broken body?"

"As you said sir if not by strength, I can still prevail by wits."

"Then take her and get lost, go so far away that even the shadow of Sylvesters cannot reach you till I ask for you."

"...Yes sir."

Declan bowed and was going to leave before the voice stooped him in his tracks.

"If you touched Sylvia in a wrong way...remember me Declan, all those you love, all those who ever talked to you, all those that smiled at you and all those you love will be buried along with you. I would not let you die and you would not want to live.

Don't ever hurt my daughter."

"...I fear your daughter might strangle me without an ounce of kindness if I betray her sir. Even if you don't trust me, please trust the cruel and ruthless blood of a Sylvester. I will never hurt her."
