A.N. Dedicated to ForSure1234. Who really cares how historically accurate this is, like would you guys be upset if I have Katherine write an article about Bonnie and Clyde? (Points go to those who can tell the connection between Bonnie and Clyde and Newsies. I know Newsies4ever knows.)

"No way Katherine, it's not happening."

"Come on David stop being so stubborn."

"You're one to talk about being stubborn."

Jack groaned inwardly, Davey and Katherine had been arguing for the last ten months, and Jack had been stuck in the middle literally, but at least he hasn't been asked for his input on the argument.

"These kids need an example of how to organize themselves, and what better way than to to watch one of your meetings."

"This is a newsboy union meeting, which means newsboys only, we have important things to talk about. It's a very serious event."

"Serious. You're kidding me right? It's going to be you, Jack, Crutchie, and the leaders from the other boroughs, nothing about that sounds serious to me."

"Coming from the girl who has never gone to a meeting."

"Because I actually have work to do."

Jack was so tired of the arguing, but figured it was best for his health if he stayed out of the argument.

"How about we ask Jack, he is the president."

"Finally you offered up a good idea, David. What do you think Jack, should we let the kids from other groups who are trying to become unions sit in on a meeting, or," she adds glaring at Davey, "should we leave them to fend for themselves? You should have a big input since you are the president of the newsboy union."

"Um," Jack says rubbing the back of his neck, " 'm only co-president."

"Yes, but the other co-president is being a stubborn child." Katherine says glaring at Davey again.

"Then I succeed."

"What?" Davey and Katherine both asks.

"I succeed ya know when ya back away from somet'in'."

"That's secede Jack, and you can't." Katherine says.

"I guess we could 'ave most of the meetin' as jus' us an' maybe brin' the uda kids in when we start wrappin' up."

"He's only saying that because you're his girlfriend." Davey says looking at Katherine. Jack had to admit he wasn't completely wrong.

"You and I both know that's a lie David. You're just upset that you're wrong and everyone knows it."

"I am not wrong, these meetings are very important and babysitting is not going to help any."

"I can't believe how cruel you are. These are kids who are just trying to get their rights just like you were doing a few months ago, and you're just going to leave them on the streets."

"That's not what I am saying at all you're twisting my words."

"I am not, you're just being to difficult to realize what you are saying."

"I am not, you're being too stubborn to realize that you are wrong."

"Ugh, you are being impossible." Katherine said stopping on the sidewalk.

"I'm bring impossible, you're the one who's trying to control something she isn't even part of."

"I'm was big a part of this union getting formed as you were. If it wasn't for me you would still be trying to win your little strike."

"Oh yes, I forgot your articles. You were safe in your office, or your father's house, or your apartment, which I am sure your father pays for, writing your articles, while we were getting beat in the street, by people your father hired."

"Don't you dare bring my father into this, and as I recall you still live with your parents."

"Oh yes, because God forbid I try to help support my family."

Jack can see this conversation of going in a very quick downward spiral, especially since they brought up family, but he wasn't stupid enough to step in when tensions are this high. Jack figure in his head that if he stepped in now there was a very high chance he would come out missing a limb, or dead.

"I am trying to make a life for myself."

"Yeah, a life where you get everything handed to you because of where you're from."

"I can't argue with an idiot any longer." Katherine says as she walks away.

"Great 'cause neither can I!" Davey exclaims, heading back to his selling spot.

Jack continues walking, thinking about what just happened. Soon he walks into Race, Mush, Skittery, and Romeo playing marbles while Crutchie watches.

"Is everyt'in' ok Jack?" Crutchie askes.

"I don' think so." That brought out a laugh in Mush.

"What's wrong."

"Davey an' Ace are arguin' cause some kids wan' ta sit in on the meetin' an' Davey says we shouldn' 'cause we's gots important stuff ta talk 'bout. Ace says we should though, 'cause they's jus' like us."

"Well, who's righ'?"

"They both are so I don' know who ta side with. I tried ta bring up a solution, bu' neither listened."

"So it's Plumber an' Davey who's arguin' an' ya don' know who ta side with?" Race asks.

"Yeah."

"Then ya side with Plumber."

"Why?"

" 'Cause ya always side with ya goirl."

"He's right Jack." Romeo adds.

"What are the chances tha' this'll blow ova an' I won' 'ave ta choose sides."

"It'll blow ova Jackie, jus' na' before the meetin' tanigh'. Wese all know tha' Davey an' Plumber can be stubborn an' the chances of 'em forgettin' this 'fore the meetin' are as good as the chances of the Delanceys actin' like descent humans bein's."

Jack takes his cap off and runs his hands through his hair, "This is gonna be a lon' nigh'."

"Sorry Jack." Crutchie says.

"Is fine I got meself inta this mess."

Jack and Davey are walking from the lodging house to Jacobi's discussing the topics that need to be brought up tonight, Crutchie is going to join them a little later. Jack can see Katherine waiting outside Jacobi's and he starts thinking of ways to get out of this alive.

"I see you got my message from Les." Davey says to Katherine.

"Yeah."

"I came up with a great idea for a compromise."

"What?"

"We can have our meeting then bring in the kids as we're winding down."

"That's a great idea Davey."

"Thanks, Katherine."

For the rest of the night it took every ounce of Jack's self control to not smack Davey upside the head, or strangle him.
