The brunette walked through the mafia hallways, eyes lazily drifting as he scoffed to himself when he saw the guards straighten their postures, gulping slightly.

He recognised them. They have been working here since he was in the mafia. Seems they were lucky weren't killed yet.

When you join the mafia, you can't leave. If you do, you'll get executed. It was basic knowledge so the brunette admired anyone who joined the mafia knowing that.

Well, in exchange, the lay was above average even for a mere guard.

Before he knew it, his hand rose as he waved at the guards who flinched slightly before bowling and greeting him back.

Being in the ADA seemed to have really changed his mindset. He gotten a habit of greeting people more, even for acquaintances.

When he left, the guards gave each other a glance with raised brows.

"That's Dazai-dono right? He not wearing bandages arpund his eyes anymore."

"I thought he left for good."

"Seemed like the agnecy he was in made a deal with the mafia."

The two nodded at each other. However, a smile crept up their faces. They knew Dazai since they started working in the mafia.

With the constant intimidating aura around the brunette when he was younger along with his cold glare to anyone who opposes him, it was hard not to be fearful of the 'demon prodigy'.

The brunette didn't even spare them a glance since the start. He volunteering waved at them, it couldn't make them feel any better.

---

Noticing the ginger coming into from one of the rooms. Dazai remembered what room that was. It was mostly for information. Only executives could enter the room.

According to Mori, he will remian in his initial position. Still Mori's right hand man, always by his side for the next five years.

The brunette couldn't help but sigh but his train of thoughts were broken when he felt a flick on his forehead.

He winced, holding his forehead in pain as he looked at the redhead who was snickering.

Dazai'a eyes narrowed before flicking the ginger's forehead back.

Like always, Chuuya screamed at him only for the brunette to laugh. He really did miss Chuuya's reactions. He was much more fun to be with than Kunikida.

"Poor Chuuya, you'll have to put up with me for 5 years."

The ginger was about to retort back before he took a few steps back.

"Wait, five years?"

The brunette sighed, "Mori made me sign a contract."

Chuuya's brow raised before his eyes softened.

"Well, I'm here right?"

The brunette's eyes widened in shock before nodding, hands wrapping around the other as a pitiful attempt of a hug.

Dazai didn't really understand hugs, he learned them from Chuuya but since he left the mafia, he couldn't really practice his 'hugging skills'

That was a bonus in joining the mafia again.

The ginger hummed hugging he other anyways, glad at the other's attempt.

After a few seconds of the comforting hug, they separated, the brunette deciding on following the ginger. Mori hasn't gave him any missions yet. However, he knew the raven haired would start oiling tasks on him soon.

Just letting him have a break for now and then making him go though hell all over again. It was as if he took pleasure in seeing Dazai suffer.

Before he could dwell in anymore daunting thoughts, vibrating in his coat pocket pulled him out of the endless negative thoughts enveloping him like a fog. That was most probably how he even started getting used to the darkness of the mafia.

Fishing out his phone, he sighed, not in frustration thought. He was rather relieved.

"Ranpo-san, good to know you remembered your own order."

"Do you think I'll forget that easily."

The brunette chuckled, trying hard to put on a happy tone. He has to admit, he was rather sad about having to enter the mafia but it was a good deal he couldn't deny.

The raven's voice brought him back again, "Everything...going alright there?"

The brunette couldn't help but chuckled again, it was rare for
Ranpo to worry so much.

The brunette's lips parted as he started, "Actaully..."

The other hummed, all ears to whatever the brunette was about to say.

The brunette contemplated telling Ranpo about the five year contract as he bit his lip and at the end, "Nevermind, I'll call you again tomorrow."

The raven haired kept quiet before agreeing, ending the call.

The brunette kept his phone. He knew the raven haired suspected he was lying but that was fine. If he really wanted to know, he'll ask and Dazai will tell.

"Mackerel, come help me organise these files. Make use of your infinitely long arms."

The brunette snickered at the joke as he balanced a few files on his arms.

---

The raven haired frowned as he sighed, head turning as he said, "Stop sneaking around."

Right once cuez the slightly ajar meeting door was pushed open and the rest of the ADA members slowly flooded into the meeting room.

Kunikida pushed his glasses up as he cleared his throat, "So?"

Ranpo sighed again, "He said he's fine but I doubt it. He sounds like a depressed middle aged man."

Everyone glanced at each other worriedly.

"I'll ask him tomorrow." The raven haired jumped out of his seat, leaving the room, most likely to continue consuming his endless amount of snacks.
