[0] prologue

"No! No, don't go!" A young girl cried as she clinched onto her older sisters skirt. Tugging at it, begging her not to leave. "Yellow. I promise I'm going to come back, and I'm going to call everyday." She said. "No! I don't want you to go!" Yellow yelled. Somehow grabbing her skirt tighter. "Uncle, help."

Wilton let out a sigh and walked forwards and grabbed his younger niece and picked her up. Ignoring that she was squirming around while crying. "Yellow, she has to go! She's going to miss her plane!" Yellow stopped moving around, but she had a pout on her face, tears still rolling down her face. [y/n] let out a sigh and went forwards and took Yellow into her arms.

She wiped her sisters eyes, a sad smile on her face. "It's okay. I'm not going to be gone for long. How about this, you can walk with me until the entrance to the forest." Yellow nodded, still having a pout on her face. "Okay..." she responded weakly. "Okay." [y/n] responded giving a kiss to Yellow's head. [y/n] put Yellow down and reached for her hand, "Uncle, I'll walk with Yellow then she'll walk right back home. Right Yellow?" Yellow nodded, "Let's go." She said before walking off.

"Yellow, return right back home as soon as you reach the gates to the forest, okay!?" Wilton yelled from the front of their house. "Okay!"

The two walked towards the gates, "Don't be sad Yellow. I'll call often, and when I have a break I'll come and visit."

"You promise?" [y/n] nodded with a smile on her face.

The two sisters arrived at the gates leading to the forest, "This is were we part. Go back home now. Remember it's dangerous to go into the forest without an adult and Pokémon." Yellow nodded. [y/n] crouched down and kissed her sisters forehead. "Stay safe, I love you." She said getting up and walking off.

Viridian Forest...

Yellow had ignored what her sister and uncle had said and went into the forest. At the end of the day, she didn't want her sister to leave. Or, she thought that she could convince her sister to let her go with her. She shouldn't have done that since she got lost, and there was lots of scary things going on around her. She had never went into the forests alone, or this deep into the forests. She let out a scream when an aggressive Dratini jumped out of the bushes which was already strange considering that they weren't native to the forest. 

"EEYAAAAA!!"

Before she could get hit vines wrapped around the Dratini's body and a large figure came and landed a few feet from Yellow and the boy that had grabbed Yellow and jumped away.

"Dragonite! Dragon Breath!" To Yellow a very familiar voice commanded. The Dratini after being hit, and realizing that they had no chance of winning ran off. "Are you alright?!" [y/n] asked jumping off of the back of her larger then normal Dragonite. Yellow brightened when she saw her sister, "[n/n]!" She cheered wrapping her arms around her sisters waist.

"What are you doing here?! Didn't we tell you to go back to the house! It's dangerous here!" Yellow looked down, filling with her hands after [y/n] crouched down. "Sorry, I just didn't want you to leave." [y/n] had a sad expression and brought Yellow into her arms. "I know, but it was still dangerous for you to come here."

"I know, sorry."

"It's okay, as long as you don't do it again."

Yellow smiled and nodded, [y/n] got up and looked at the boy that essentially saved her sister. "Thank you, you saved my sisters life."

"Nah! It was something anyone would do! You have one strong looking Pokémon there." He complimented, "Thank you, your Venusaur's incredible. I can tell he's raised with care."

The boy grinned at her, "Thanks!" Yellow looked at the two older kids with awe, looking at them in adoration and awe. "Wow, you're so lucky! I wish I had a friend like that!" Yellow exclaimed. The boy had a confused look, arms behind his head. "You don't have any Pokémon of your own?" He asked, looking at Yellow. "No." She responded, [y/n] placed her hands onto her sisters shoulders. "She's still really young, she's not at the age were my uncle and I feel she can take care of Pokémon." The boy nodded, "Well. It would be safer if she was to have a partner in case of situations like this right?"

"I guess..."

"Okay then! Take this Poké Ball... and throw it at that Rattata—the way I just did!" He exclaimed, handing Yellow a Poké Ball.

Yellow looked at the ball chucking it into the air. "Like this...?!" Out came a Pikachu who had a fully confident look. "I'd like you to meet Pikachu—an Electric-type Pokémon! This one's nicknamed Pika." The boy introduced. "C'mon-try giving Pika a command. This attack, f'rinstance..." He continued telling her to read the attack. "Thunder Shock?"

"Yeah! And hurry—Pika's waiting!!" He informed her looking at the Pikachu was was fidgeting around. "O-okay.... Pikachu.... Thunder Shock!!" At her command Pika shot out a powerful Thunder Shock, Rattata got hit straight on. "Wow, that's a powerful Pikachu." [y/n] said silently. "Okay... we defeated the last one, but this one we'll just weaken... and then..." He waited until the Pokémon was weakened, "Now! Throw the Poké ball at it!"

Yellow threw the ball with all of her might and was able to capture the Rattata. "You captured it! Means you're responsible for it—and it'll do whatever you say!" The boy explained. Feeling proud for helping, Yellow lifted up the Rattata and sent him a wide smile. "Ooh... nice to meet you, Rattata!!"

"No matter how big a Pokémon is, inside a Poké ball they will shrink down and fit into your pocket." [y/n] explained. "Now, get going home. Uncle Wilton's probably worried sick about you." She then turned and faced the boy, "Thank you again, if it wasn't for you. My sister would be in danger and wouldn't have gotten her Pokémon. If I can inconvenience you one more time, could you take her back to Viridian City? I would myself, but I was in a rush." [y/n] sheepishly said. The boy looked at [y/n] and smiled. "Sure! It's no problem. I was heading there anyways."

"Thank you again. If you ever need anything in the future, and we happen to meet again. Splash don't be afraid to ask." She said. The boy nodded, "I'll do that!"

"Dragonite, let's get going! If we hurry I think we can get there on time."

"Nite!!!"

"Yellow, once you're in the city say you're sorry to uncle and create a bond with your new Rattata."

"I will!"

[y/n] smiled before taking off on the back of her mighty partner. Flying off into the distance.
