7 full days of punishment. All for a stupid mistake that could've been avoidable. It was my fault, yet I was somewhat surprised that Price set this on both of us not just me. Ghost hasn't spoken a single word to me. He avoids me like the plague and for a good reason, but I wouldn't mind a chance at apologizing. Maybe if we made peace, this week wouldn't be such a burden.

I walked with the folders holding my reports towards the Captain's office. I knocked and after a few seconds, his husky voice allowed me in

"What is it, Katarina."

His face was hidden behind papers, his legs propped up on the desk and of course, his cigar hanging low from his lips

"I have the reports you asked."

I set the three folders down and he finally looked up from the papers with a nod

"Hm. I'll look them over later. Dismissed."

After leaving his office I could finally breathe again. That man was more terrifying than a hungry bear had you had the chance to see him annoyed or angry. And unfortunately for me, I was the one suffering right now.

I couldn't do much other than train, eat, hang out with soap and Gaz and sleep. I would complain at the top of my lungs how stressful and tiring going on mission was, now that I can't do that anymore, I miss it. I miss waking up in the middle of the night and getting to save the world little by little each day. But if I wanted things to go back to the normal, I needed to find the source and solution to this problem. Ghost.

I scavenged the entire base in search of him. Every corner, every little crack on this base was searched yet I couldn't find a 6'4 tall, built like a brick wall, skull masked man. Where in the goddamn fuck was he?! He can't just disappear into thin air, and he's not one to go out shopping when the time calls. So then... could it be..? Nah. Impossible. But maybe..? No! No no no!

I walked around the hallways back and forth until I rounded a corner and heard the sound of water running. The showers, of course! I peeked my head inside, steam filled the room and fogged the mirrors on the wall. The floor was wet yet only one stall was occupied. I noticed a pile of neatly folded clothes on the sink and recognized the faint scent of.. gunpowder. Whiskey. Cigarettes and cologne. Damned be he who wears such an intoxicating fragrance. I couldn't help myself. It had to be Ghost or else his mask wouldn't be laying on the pile. I picked it up, tracing the skull with my fingers and feeling the soft fabric. I set it aside and grabbed his shirt, letting it sit on my chest and looking at myself in the mirror. I looked ridiculous, that shirt being way too big for me to wear. When I waved it in front of me that scent hit my nostrils again and I looked at it intently for a while. I brought it closer and closer to my face, nuzzling into it. It smelled fresh and clean, it smelled of him and my stomach flipped

What am I doing?! This is creepy and inappropriate! I'm literally standing in the men's shower room sniffing Ghost's clothes like some stalker. God, I gotta get out of here before he walks out

The stall opened and I slipped in an empty stall to hide, covering my mouth as to not let out any noises.

"What the fuck... Soap you.."

Ghost sighed loudly, and I peeked through the crack of the stall door seeing his back. It was heavily scarred, a few moles scattered here and there. I moved my eyes up to see the back of his head; dusty blonde. He has just a few slight curls, dripping water down onto his broad shoulders. He dried himself off, letting the towel fall as I widened my eyes

"Oh wow..."

I whispered and kept looking even though my mind was telling me to stop. It was a major invasion of privacy, how would I feel if a man was watching me get dressed!? Dammit Kat!

He put his boxers on, his sweatpants followed en-suite and I found myself pouting at the fact I didn't get to see the front as well. He slipped his shirt over his head and I tried to make out his face from the blurry reflection on the mirror.

"Where... I put it right here."

Ghost mumbled to himself, checking under the sink and inside the stall he was just in

"Where the fuck is my mask"

I froze and looked down at my hands. His mask sat in my arms and I gulped, praying the holy lord and spirits to turn me invisible for 10 seconds so that I could escape yet nobody answered my prayers

"God dammit-"

Ghost cut himself off, opening my stall wide fucking open. I hid my face in my hands

"I didn't see anything! I wanted to apologize for the incident and make amends! I swear I wasn't trying-"

"Get out."

He spoke but his voice wasn't loud. It was more like... monotonous?

"Yes yes, I'm sorry!! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!"

I said in a rush, giving him his mask back whilst my eyes were still closed shut. I tried to run out of the showers but the floor was slippery and I couldn't see for shit. I slipped, hitting my ass right onto the tiled floor but managing to crawl out of there and book it to the lounge area where Soap was having a chat with Gaz

"Woah- Kat you look like you've seen a ghost, are you ok?"
