Each day passes like the last as Asfaloth and I journey through the forest.

The air steadily continues to chill as winter begins to creep over this part of the world. We are the only living things on our path. The forest is unnaturally still as darkness spreads through it, stretching from the south; the same direction my companion and I are journeying in.

The Woodland realm and its occupants are already a distant memory, forced out of my mind as I set it on a new objective.

We continue southward, and I send up a prayer for good weather to follow us until we reach our destination. The days turn into weeks before the dense forest gives way to mountains, and the starry sky opens up above us, a shimmering pathway lighting up the sky.

I turn Asfaloth westward and, at long last, we start our long journey home.
