One month later - October
Tampa, Florida

A month can do wonders for your life. Whether that means positively or negatively, Aurora realized just how much things could change in such a small amount of time. Being back home had been doing wonders for her mental health and she appreciated the calmness of it all. It may not have started off good but for the last three weeks, she'd been on an immovable cloud 9.

Being let go from the 49ers definitely took a mental toll on her. Just as she thought before the meeting, they told her how much they loved having her on board and how much they appreciated her family but they wanted no parts of a league fine or investigation.

She couldn't believe she cried in front of them and Jameer but there was nothing else she could do. When she left that stadium, she felt despair but was grateful for the experience. It was a chapter that she had to close and hopefully open another one with another team one day.

"Ro, you ready?!" her mom shouted.

"I'm coming. I'm looking for my phone!" she yelled back.

"It's down here, honey. Darius has it."

Aurora rolled her eyes before giving a once-over in the mirror at her outfit and nodding in approval. Today was the big game at home between the Tampa Bay Bucs and the 49ers so the Jenkins family was on their way to the game with Darius. Jameer got them sideline passes and so did Travis for Ximena and Avery so the whole gang would be together.

"This is soooo cute, baby!" Angela snapped, twirling Aurora around.

"I tried my best. It's my first game as a sideline babe. I'm gonna put his jersey on later though. I just want to get some cute pictures in this." she laughed.

"Well, how about we hurry this up so we can make it there on time?" Deon spoke, walking back into the house from outside

"Well, how about we hurry this up so we can make it there on time?" Deon spoke, walking back into the house from outside.

"Dad, I'm loving this outfit. Did Darius help you?" she teased.

"I did this on my own, thank you." he shot back.

They all gathered inside the sprinter van Jameer had sent to their home and were on the way to Tampa. Once the game was over, Jameer would come back to the Jenkins house and in the morning, they'd all be on the way to Texas. It was officially bye week for the 49ers after today and the two families would finally be meeting.

Aurora was beyond nervous but she knew it was only because she hadn't seen the Thompson's in awhile and they'd been together for a few months now. Jameer had been reassuring her all week but she was still nervous.

"I can't wait to finally watch the game from the stands again. Last time I did was with Hakeem. He would've loved to be at this game today. Can you believe we're 6-2?" Aurora said.
