Date Night

"Aurora, you gotta tell me where you got this dress. It's making your ass look even bigger." Summer teased, spinning her around.

Aurora waved her off with a smile and brought her in for a tight, comforting hug. She hadn't seen Summer in probably a good two months and her spunky attitude felt so refreshing. She was thankful for their friendship thus far.

"It was from a store back home. My girls picked it out for me. I haven't felt like myself but you and Jameer complimenting me all night is making up for that." she said, locking hands with her as they approached their men.

"Girl, you know I'll be the first one to remind you that you're that bitch. How've you been, though?" Summer questioned. They'd texted each other since she lost the baby but those are just words on the screen.

"Truthfully, I'm managing. It's been hard but the support I've been getting and been around at home felt like the exact thing I needed. I think about it a lot but I'm gonna be okay." she gave her friend a soft smile.

"You know I'm here for you with whatever you need. Anytime you wanna get away from this boy, I'm your girl. Plus, it's about time you meet my babies. They keep asking who's the lady with Uncle J." Summer laughed.

The girls walked in front of the men as they followed the waitress to their table. It was a pretty steady night for this restaurant but they didn't care about being around other people.

"You okay, baby?" she asked, turning to Jameer in her chair after they sat down.

"Mm, I'm just hungry." Jameer said, looking over her face.

Aurora brought her chair closer to his and let one of her arms rest on his thigh. Summer had been looking at the two with heart eyes and couldn't help but sneak a picture of them looking so lovey-dovey.

"I love you." she whispered.

"I love you too." he said, puckering his lips. Aurora leaned over to give him a kiss before pulling away and wiping his lips of her gloss.

"Enough of that. When are we going on a couple vacay?" Calvin asked.

"When my season is over, dude. Why are y'all always ready to hop on a plane or a boat?" Jameer kissed his teeth.

"Because we have the money to and so do you. Plus, yo ass never wanna do shit in the offseason. It's always training this, sponsor that. Live a little, nigga." Calvin scoffed.

"So niggas can't grind and make money no more?"

"Boy, please. Since Ro is in the picture now, I know she's gonna force your ass to come. You just don't like being around couples alone." Summer laughed.

Before Jameer could respond, a waitress came up to their table with a glowing smile that Aurora thought was so pretty. She poured water into everyone's cups before stepping back and pulling out her notepad.

"Good evening, my name is Sierra and I'm gonna be your waitress for the night. How can I start you guys off?" she smiled.

"We'll have a bottle of your Etude 'Estate', Pinot Noir and a bottle of your Brewer-Clifton Chardonnay. Ro?" Summer asked, looking over at the couple.
