besides me squealing bc of how much better my relationship is w my dad bc of the divorce happening,,, i've come to realize all of the "bad" things he did was bc either my mom told him to (as in- told him to "parent too", which in her eyes as usual is scream at me) or he'd just crack under pressure, which is beyond understandable now that i know more about how my mom treats him bc she's constantly on him and being horrible to him- and has been for 27. years. i have no idea how my dad has handled this for so long.. but thats definitely something i admire about him- his patience, he never lashes out at me when i dont immediately understand something, he always takes it slow and explains/reasons with me, which i appreciate beyond understanding and beyond articulation
